Skydive Ramblers e-News #430 – Back in Action! (13-20 Sept. 20)

Last Newsletter was Tuesday 24th March – Skydive Ramblers was CLOSED for the first time in 40 years due to COVID-19. However the Dropzone has never looked better, and with Mindfulness of Infection Control and Social Distancing EXPECTED – the DZ is now OPEN!

During the intervening period we lost two Ramblers mainstays, the indisputable “Father” of the APF – Claude Gillard and long time DZ partner of jumper John – Chris Leach, and former Tandem Master Peter Milburn.

Sunday 13th –  Tandems today were Allan Collins, Linda Edwards, Allison Carthew, and Harry Inglis.

Alex Tewhata did Stages 2 & 3 of his AFF Course, Stuart Law did Stage 3, Samantha Jenkins did Stages 7 & 8, and Dylan Perkins did Stages 8 and 9 – completing his AFF.

Monday 14th – A new start to the skydiving week with Tandems Kristine Perkins, Michael Prima and Monique Richards.

Samantha Jenkins did Stage 9 – completing her AFF, and Janarri Price did Stages 5, 6, & 7.

Tuesday 15th – Another beautiful day in paradise but very quiet – only 6 loads.

Wednesday 16th  – Another Tandem today Ruahina Martin, and student Lachlan Merrick did Stages 5, 6 & 7.

Thursday 17th – Tandems today were Vanessa Dinelli, Alexandre Silva, Tania Thomas and Rony Cheriyan.

Student Stuart Law did Stages 4, 5, & 6 of his AFF Course.

Friday 18th – Karen and Matthew Chaffy did Tandems.
Bryce Pena did Stage 1 of his AFF Course.

Saturday 19th  – Tandems today were Michael Cahill, Dain Knight, Karyn Knight, Glenn Hegge, Isaac Hegge and Bruce Draper.

Student David Costello did Stage 1 of his AFF Course.

Sunday 20nd – Tandems today were Steve Anderson, Tamar Stephen, Richard Tyree, Jessica Tyree, Lyn Nguyen, and Chelsea Jacka.

Student April Hardy did Stages 1, 2 and 3 of her AFF Course, Xi Jin did Stage 2, David Costello did Stages 2 & 3, Matthew Curi did Stage 2, Shane Kent did Stage 8, Kenny Zhang did Stage 9 – completing his AFF.
