Drop Zone Action

Another great week at the DZ with Students, Tandems, B-Rels, and Fun Jumpers all keeping busy in the skies above Toogs. Plenty of new students kicked off their skydiving journeys, while continuing jumpers kept progressing towards those big milestones.

The weekend also brought another fun Belly Bash event with great formations, good vibes, and brilliant photos captured by the legendary Steve Fitchett and Michael Young. Huge thanks to Dawn and Chris for load organising and helping make the event another success.

Cheers to everyone who made it out, helped out, jumped in, or just brought the good vibes. Here’s to blue skies ahead…

Catch you in freefall,
The Ramblers Crew 🪂

🏁 First Jump Course – Students starting on Saturday 23 May were Mitchell, Caio, Timothy, and Daniel, all completing their First Jump Course classroom session. Raelee and Jake also kicked off their 15 Jump Packages and got straight into the action.

Student Progression – Welcome to the skies to Caio and Daniel, who both completed Stage 1, while Jake and Raelee progressed through Stages 1 and 2. Continuing students Brooke completed Stages 2 and 3, and Brendan reached Stage 7 – getting closer to finishing his AFF Course.

Thanks to our Instructors for looking after the students and keeping everyone safe in freefall and under canopy, Rebecca, Toddy, Robin, Shelby, Nicol, Alex, Paul, Li, and Adrian.

This week Grant and Shannon both took the leap with Tandem Master Ty and enjoyed the experience above Toogs. Thanks to Ty for getting them safely into the sky and back again.

B-Rels, Coach & Fun Jumps

Samantha completed two jumps with Alex and Shelby working on B-Rel 5, while Kai completed a jump with coach Jake for B-Rel 5 as well. Great progress towards those B-Certificates.

Thanks to all our coaches for helping everyone continue to progress safely in the sport.

☀️ Fun Jumpers – Saturday 23 May saw another epic Belly Bash – Load Organising with Dawn & Chris, bringing great vibes and fun formations back to the skies over Toogs. Be sure to check out the brilliant photos by the legendary Steve Fitchett.

Belly Bash – Load Organising with Dawn & Chris

“Huge thanks to all you legends who looked at Saturday’s weather forecast and said “yeah… nah” before rocking up to BellyBash anyway! 🌦️😎

With both Dawn and myself currently grounded, the responsibility of organising fell to the awesome Martin Klapper, who did an epic job keeping things running smoothly and helping build some seriously fun jumps throughout the day.

This week’s theme was sidebodies, and we stepped things up with some spicy dynamic shapes that everyone absolutely smashed. The flying was sharp, the energy was high, and the progression across the groups was awesome to watch.

Even with the winds trying their best to ruin the party, both groups still managed to get two jumps in – proof that optimism (and stubborn skydivers) really does pay off. 😅

Massive thanks as always to our superstar camera flyers Michael and Fitchy for capturing the action, and of course to our amazing sponsors for supporting the event and the community: Skydive Ramblers, APF, TSC, SQPC and Mee Loft.

Can’t wait to do it all again on June 20th – preferably with slightly less “character-building” weather next time! 🙌”

Hey guys,
Thanks for running the Learning Curve Camp last week! It was run to your usual high standard and was a very beneficial experience, especially given my lack of currency after the main COVID closures. I thoroughly enjoy attending these weeks and really appreciate the time dedicated by the whole team at Ramblers, including the instructors, manifest, cafe team, aviation crew/pilots, and support staff. You are all legends and I look forward to coming out again in the near future.
Cheers, Adam.
