Achievements & Congratulations

⭐️ Joshua – Completed AFF

Drop Zone Action

The week kicked off with a mix of sunshine and breezy patches, but by the weekend Toogs had settled into great jumping weather. Loads went up, plenty of progression was ticked off, and the DZ was buzzing with Students, Tandems, B-Rels and heaps of stoked Fun Jumpers.

A big highlight was Joshua wrapping up his AFF Course with Stage 9 — congrats legend!

The Fun Jumpers lit it up with Vertical Descent 9 bringing the crew together for head-down action, and to top it off, we had a spectacular demo jump into the Mitchell Creek Rock ‘n’ Blues Fest 2025, with Rodney Benson flying the flag, Steve Fitchett catching the action on video, and taking some brilliant photos, plus Wayne McLachlan on outside camera! 🇦🇺🪂!

🏁 First Jump Course & AFF Progression

We welcomed Shorty (Abraham) on his Stage 1 — welcome to the sport! Yug and Matthew both got through Stages 1–3, while Leroy powered through Stages 1–4. A big congratulations to Joshua for finishing his AFF Course with Stage 9 — awesome work mate! Thanks to our instructors Rebecca, Lisa, Ash, Robin, Tish, and Millie for guiding our students through their skydiving journeys.

☀️ Coach Jumps & B-Rels

Plenty of coaching action this week with jumps from Daniel, Chase, Victoria, and Angus. Thanks to coaches Li, Ash,and Natisha for putting in the time to help our novices progress safely and with confidence.

🪂 Tandems

We had a solid crew of Tandems through the week: Ty G., Cody, Abbey & Marek, Jianshe, Teleah, Jason, Kiesha, and Tane, who said in his feedback email: “I had a great time jumping from the aeroplane thanks again.” Thanks to Tandem Masters Ash and Ty for taking them for the leap of faith.

And behind the scenes, Tandem Master training was in full swing with Adam Harmey and Ben Scuce. Our experienced jumpers — Samantha, Conrad, Rebecca (training coach), and Ben — all stepped in as Tandem passengers to help with the conversions. Big thanks to Mossy and Ben N. for running the training and getting these guys on their way to becoming Ramblers Tandem Masters.

🎇 Fun Jumpers Action

The headline event of the week was VD9 – Vertical Descent #9. As Madd Thomas put it: “It was epic. 10 jumps!!” The crew threw down a head-down edition with both a 10-way and a 5-way group, ripping straight-down skydives across the weekend. The event was proudly sponsored by the Toogoolawah Skydivers Club, Queensland Parachuting Association (SQPC and NQPC), and of course Skydive Ramblers. Full event report and photos coming soon — watch this space.

Special thanks to Jimmy Budgen and Kylie Cowling from the The Amanda Emblem Experiment for putting on this great event! Best atmosphere, great music & fun times.

🙏And a big shout out to Gary for letting us land on his beautiful property! See you again next year!

Cheers to everyone who came out, jumped in, helped out, or just brought the good vibes. Here’s to Blue Skies ahead…

Vertical Descent 9

“Vertical Descent 9 hit the skies above Skydive Ramblers last weekend on September 20 & 21.

This was an intermediate static HD event with a 10 way and a 4 way group with coaches Matt and Dave and John Hannan running outside camera.

The weather on day 1 was looking grim with gusty winds and thick cloud but we persisted and ended up hitting 5 jumps! Sunday was a cracker day and we did another 5 making it 10 jumps over the 2 days and we saw some epic progression and leveling up!

Shout out to Jakob, Ben and Alex who came from interstate and far north to get amongst some vertical formations.

Special thanks to all of the participants, coaches and camera. Skydive Ramblers and all of the team, SQPC and TSC for their continued support!”

Matt Thomas

Most amazing experience. Staff are all professional, very safety oriented but make the entire time you are there so much fun. First time jumper and we did it at night during their equinox boogie and the atmosphere was brilliant. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to experience an amazing jump.
