Vertical Descent – Static Freefly

Vertical Descent 3

“Vertical Descent 3 was held at Skydive Ramblers last weekend on August 3 & 4. This was an intermediate Static Head Down event consisting of 2 groups, 8 way and 6 way.

The weather was absolutely perfect with nil winds and clear blue skies all weekend! Coaches Matt and Dave took 12 participants to the sky with Matt Smith on outside camera and Safe, Fun, Progressive jumps were had by all. Some awesome formations were built and it was great to see the progression from the return flyers and also seeing the level of the new participants with a few people travelling from Sydney and Darwin to attend!

A big shout out to Adam Harmey for running a great First Aid/ incident management seminar on Saturday night!

Vertical Descent 2

“Vertical Descent 2 was held at Skydive Ramblers on June 29 & 30. This was a Head Down event with a mixture of beginner and intermediate flyers. The forecast did not look promising but the freefly gods gave us jumpable weather all weekend with all
participants completing 8 or 9 jumps.

Coaches Matt, Dave and Wade took 13 participants in 3 groups to the sky and Safe, Fun, Progressive jumps were had by all. The static freefly scene is building nicely and we can’t wait for the next one! Special thanks to Skydive Ramblers and all of the team, SQPC and TSC for their continued support.”

Vertical Descent 1

Vertical Descent 1 was held last weekend at Skydive Ramblers Toogoolawah by Maddog and Flossy. This camp catered for intermediate Head Down flying with 10 participants and 2 coaches in 2 groups of 6.

The weather gods were listening to our calls and provided some great weather for both days. Each participant had the chance to jump in different slots in the base and dive or float to a variety of formations. Great progression was made by all in a safe and fun manner!
