Rambling On ⭐️ DZ Action News #718 (27 July – 2 August 2026)

What a week at Toogs! Students, Tandems, B-Rels, and Fun Jumpers kept the DZ buzzing with progression, coaching, and plenty of action. Huge congratulations to Eamonn, Zachary, and Tim, who all completed their AFF Courses with Stage 9 this week, with Eamonn and Tim rolling straight into their B-Rels.

Congratulations also to Eamonn, Pamela, Murray, and Levi on earning their A-Certificates, Kai, Sam, and Tyler on receiving their B-Certificates, and Mikey on achieving his Wingsuit Sign-off.

Fun Jumpers enjoyed FUNtastic Friday, the Beginner Angles Camp, and Aaron Fels’ Canopy Flight Fundamentals Course, plus Adrian’s Basic Canopy Course, while 22 Tandem skydivers, including a huge group celebrating Joshua’s 24th birthday, made for a busy weekend in the skies.

Cheers to everyone who made it out, helped out, jumped in, or just brought the good vibes. Here’s to blue skies ahead…

Drop Zone Action

On Saturday, 1 August, Bill welcomed Fabio and Juan, who both kicked off their 15 Jump Packages with a First Jump Course classroom session before taking to the skies to begin their AFF journeys. On Sunday, Juan did his AFF Stage 1, and Fabio completed Stages 1 and 2. Welcome to the skies!

Continuing students Kieran completed Stage 3, Mark progressed through Stages 3 and 4, and Megan powered through Stages 3 to 7.

Congratulations to Eamonn, who completed Stages 3 to 9 and went straight into his B-Rels, while Zachary completed Stages 8 and 9 and Tim finished with Stages 8 and 9 before kicking off his B-Rels. Well done to all three on completing their AFF Courses!

Thanks to our Instructors for looking after the students and keeping everyone safe in freefall and under canopy: Toddy, Bec, Alex, Robin, Kellie, Adrian, and Shelby.

Tandem Skydivers

We welcomed 22 Tandem skydivers this week, including a fantastic group celebrating Joshua’s 24th birthday. Joining Joshua on the adventure were Innes, Harrison K., Harrison R., Christian, Oscar, Finn, William, Daniel, Oliver, Drewe, Paxton, and Riley.

Also taking the leap of faith were Jake, Dean, Yunjui, Yvonne, Hans, Lucy, Bosun, HuangLan, and Arien.

Big cheers to those who took the Video/Photo Package to capture that unforgettable first jump! And an extra thanks to everyone who left reviews — your words inspire the next generation of skydivers.

Thanks to Tandem Masters Adrian, Ty, Ash, and Heath for getting everyone safely into the sky and back again. Special thanks to Toddy and Adrian for flying outside camera and capturing those unforgettable extra angles in freefall.

B-Rels & Coach jumps

Coach and B-Rel action continued throughout the week with Ross, Eamonn, Linkin, and Levi (two jumps), while Alex smashed through five B-Rel jumps to complete Stages 1 to 4. Pamela completed B-Rel 1 and 2, Tim and Matthew started their B-Rel journey with Stage 1, Fergus and Brooke ticked off B-Rel Stage 2, and Savannah worked on B-Rel Stage 6.2.

And Adrian ran a Basic Canopy Course. “The participants for this basic canopy course were Tane, Sammy, Kai and Savannah. We were very fortunate with a day of great weather, so after starting the day with some theory all of them managed to do 5 jumps on the day each. It was great to see everyones progression, as all of them were showing consistent stand up landings with improving accuracy by the end of the day. Thank you to the SQPC and APF for supporting these events.”

Thanks to our coaches Kellie, Bec, Adrian, Alex, Li, and Ash for helping everyone continue to progress safely.

☀️ Fun Jumpers

It was another action-packed weekend for experienced Fun Jumpers with FUNtastic Friday hosted by Josh Arndt and Cameron Puttee, followed by the Beginner Angles Camp led by Josh. Aaron Fels also ran a Canopy Flight Fundamentals Course, helping jumpers continue to develop safe and effective canopy skills.

Funtastic Friday : “Running two loads back to back most of the day, was great to see a larger intermediate/advance level of jumpers out there, because of that we were able to run larger groups and everyone was able to get more jumps in with coaches. A lot of people came out just for the day and were excited to jump with Cam Puttee. Finished the day off with an amazing 11 way angle over the clouds followed by Snags which were a hit.” Josh

Beginner Angle Camp: “10 jumps total over the weekend, Bennett’s first time coaching at Ramblers and also finishing off his sign off for his Freefly coach rating. Michael got his level one belly signed off and Estelle got her Level 2 signed off, lots of progression and safe jumps. Smaller groups of 4 really helped the progression and keeping everyone safe.” Josh

Canopy Flight Fundamentals: “The team all grew with the total immersion of 2 days of canopy focused progression. Hopefully their new skills will help aid in the collective levelling up of the piloting community. Thanks to APF for supporting event.” Aaron.

Bill, Just a note to say thanks to you mate for your continued support it was a great trip. I would also like to bring to your leadership teams attention the exceptional support provided by Andy who did the tandem jump with a great friend of mine, Julie. To say Julie was petrified on the lead up to the big day would be a huge understatement. I had my doubts that she would actually exit on the day. I put her decision to exit firmly in the hands of Andy who excelled in calming her down, reassuring her whilst having a bit of a laugh along the way. The manner in which he guided her through what was to her a daunting task was oustanding to watch. He should be commended not only for his flight skills but also his raport and interaction with the customer. I was not surprised to find out he had a military background. Ramblers should be proud to have such fine men on their books as you and Andy, Bill.
