Drop Zone Action

Another week of winter weather kept us on our toes, with strong winds limiting opportunities in the air. Even so, our Students continued progressing, B-Rels advanced their skills, Fun Jumpers made the most of every weather window, and while there were no Tandems this week, there was still plenty to celebrate.

Congratulations to Brooke on completing AFF, SAF on earning an A Certificate, and Jarred on achieving a D Certificate. Belly Bash once again brought the community together, proving that a little wind won’t dampen the Ramblers spirit, and we’re looking forward to another exciting week as the Learning Curve Camp gets underway.

Cheers to everyone who made it out, helped out, jumped in, or just brought the good vibes. Here’s to blue skies ahead…

Catch you in freefall,
The Ramblers Crew 🪂

🏁 First Jump Course

A warm welcome also to our newest students who joined us on Saturday and kicked off their learn-to-skydive journey with our 15 Jump Package: Yun Shing (Ethan), Chloe, Kirsty, Katie and Ryan. Thanks to instructor Bill, who ran the First Jump Course classroom session teaching Freefall Skydiving Techniques and Canopy Handling Skills all-important for their first jump!

Student Progression

A huge congratulations to Brooke, who successfully completed Stages 8 and 9, earning her AFF qualification! Fantastic achievement and welcome to the world of licensed skydiving.

Finn continued progressing through the course by completing Stages 2 and 3, building confidence and skills with every jump.

Congratulations also to Saffron, who completed B-Rel Stage 4, and Trent, who ticked off B-Rel Stage 5.

A big thank you to our instructors Bec, Alex, Toddy and Robin for looking after the students and keeping everyone safe in freefall and under canopy. Thanks also to Toddy and Bec for coaching our B-Rel students.

B-Rels, Coach & Fun Jumps

Despite a week dominated by strong winter winds, there were still opportunities to keep the learning going whenever the weather allowed. Every jump counted, and our students and coaches made the most of each window.

Saturday’s Belly Bash showed exactly what the Ramblers community is all about. Even with a forecast that had everyone watching the windsock, a committed group of experienced Fun Jumpers turned up ready to fly.

As organiser Chris put it, “What a difference a few determined BellyBashers can make!” While the weather only allowed two loads before the winds strengthened, the group packed plenty into them, completing both 9-way and 7-way dynamic open accordions with smiles, enthusiasm and some excellent flying.

A huge thank you to Dawn and Chris for once again volunteering their time to organise the Belly Bash loads, helping jumpers build skills while having a great time in the sky. Special thanks also to Michael Young for capturing the action from above with some fantastic photos.

Chris also thanked everyone who came along despite the forecast, as well as Skydive Ramblers, TSC, SQPC, APF and Mee Loft for their continued support of Belly Bash. The next Belly Bash is scheduled for 29 August, with fingers crossed for lighter winds and warmer temperatures!

Belly Bash – Load Organising with Dawn & Chris (18th July 2026)

“What a difference a few determined BellyBashers can make! 😄 Despite a forecast that had us all eyeing the windsock, we still had a fantastic turnout. In fact, BellyBash proudly occupied 100% of the day’s loads… admittedly, that was a sample size of 2! 😂

The weather was kind enough to give us just enough of a window before the winds cranked up, and we made the most of it. We managed both 9-way and 7-way versions of a dynamic open accordion, with everyone bringing the smiles, enthusiasm and great flying that make these Saturdays so much fun.

A huge thank you to everyone who ignored the forecast and came along anyway. Special thanks as always to Michael for capturing the action from the sky, and to our awesome supporters Skydive Ramblers, TSC, SQPC, APF, and Mee Loft for helping keep BellyBash going.

Our next BellyBash will be on 29th August—hopefully with a little less wind and a bit more warmth!

Blue skies! 🤘🪂”

Had an absolute great time learning this amazing sport... I am absolutely hooked. My partner also did 2 tandem jumps, considering that she doesn't like flying or heights and yet due to the nature of Ramblers and their instructors and staff, she is definitely hooked as well. Absolutely recommend Ramblers either for an experience of a life time or to complete a full course. You will not regret it.
