Straight from the DZ

“Another awesome two weeks of skydiving it was, weather was still an issue on some days but we all sat and waited it out. Big welcome to our newest students who have started their AFF Course – they are Jacob, Victoria, Luke, Marcos, Tom, Jessica, Macayla, Sacha and Raphael. Plenty of Tandems keeping our instructors busy, check out their photos below.

Training camps were in full swing with 5 Camps being held over the last two weekends, to the delight of all fun jumpers. There was the ‘Burn + Nachos’ camp with Alvaro, the ‘BURNBigways with Scottie, and Vertical Descent 8 with Matt, plus the XRW camp with Woody and ‘BURN Angles with Scottie….PHEW! it was great seeing all the happy faces at the DZ.

Next weekend we have ‘Belly Bash’ with Chris and ‘Star Crests’ with Travis.”

BURN Bigways Toogs (10 & 11 May)

“On May 10-11 we had 16 jumpers from all over the country and 1 overseas visitor from Singapore gather at skydive ramblers for the BURN bigway event. The event was ran and organized by Scott Hiscoe in preparation for the upcoming 200 way world record attempts in August, a handfull of flyers looking for a world record invitation while the others were just looking to sharpen up their bigway skills.

Unfortunately the weather caused us dramas and lived up to the Scotty Curse of Cloud Camps. Non the less the crew still managed to get 8 jumps over the weekend picking any hole they could find in the clouds. Everyone learnt a lot and The progression was insane, the last jump was 1 grip off a complete formation.

Thanks everyone for making the effort and the patience with the weather, thanks to skydive Ramblers for hosting us and making every effort possible to get us jumps, even starting at 6:30am one day just for us, legends!”

Scotty.

VD8 – Vertical Descent #8 (17 & 18 May)

“Vertical Descent 8 went straight down at Skydive Ramblers last weekend on May 17 & 18. It was the 1 year anniversary of our first event and we celebrated accordingly with another ripper camp!!

The progression we have seen in the last year is through the roof and we are just getting started!

We ran this one combining both orientations with a 9 way HD group and a 4 way HU group with John Hannan running outside camera.

Saturday morning saw a bit of cloud but once we got going the weather turned it on for the rest of the weekend! We completed 9 jumps over the 2 days and saw some epic progression and leveling up!

Special thanks to all of the participants, coaches and camera. Skydive Ramblers and all of the team, SQPC and TSC for their continued support! It would not be possible without you all!

See you at the next one.”

Did my AFF course here and loved every bit of it. the instructors were fantastic, I mainly had Toddy as my coach and he was phenomenal, couldn’t speak more highly of his character. It was clear that Sara and the office staff worked hard to keep everything running smoothly while i was there. Would recommend coming here to learn how to skydive!
