Monday 4th September is Newsletter time and the start of another Learning Curve Camp. The LCC was well attended with a Meet & Greet first up and a 182 hop & pop load to get things going. Then the wind started and kept us grounded until a final load late afternoon. Fortunately the LCCers were receptive to some seminars which ran all day.  But that was it for day 1. Our two new beginners Nicole Walsh and Hunter Walkley spent the day in the classroom doing their First Jump Course.

It was a good day’s jumping. We got six loads in. Harvey’s landing video was a hit as always. You could see the advancement of landing skills as the day went on.

Nothing happened Wednesday. We got blown away. Actually we got one up but it got called down!

Thursday was a bit better, 5 loads took to the skies. There was still a wind factor lurking. Two tandems arrived. Lyn Clements and Tyerone Walker had a ball.

Harvey’s landing videos are just so valuable, thanks Harvey!

Friday was ok, just. The winds dictated the licence level for most people here. We did 5 loads but most were out of the 182.  Learning Curve wrapped up with ….

Thanks to all the Campers who stuck it out and didn’t complain about Nature’s forces!!

It was “back to normal” Saturday. Winds OK! Another five new people tried out a tandem jump. The new adventurers  were Kiarra Parnell who jumped for her 16th Birthday and brought her father Anthony along as an observer, plus Robyn Smout, Paul Weeks & Robert Bryant.

John McMahon’s experienced group of flat fliers knocked over 4 good jumps, and partied hard on good food and loud music that evening.

“Good time was had”

“Hey all, thanks for a bloody good day Saturday, did 4 jumps, nice 3 point 12way to start the day and in the star at 7500ft, should have planned more points but always good to geek and see big smiles, then a couple of 13ways going for the final point at track height and a 9 way to finish the day, flying pieces and going for the 4th point when one piece came under another and, well you all know the result of that. Gourmet night was excellent, good food and good company, lots of eating, drinking then dancing with the light show, smoke machine then Lynda produced the shot bucket and it became a bit of a blur after that. Happy birthday to Lynda and Nellie, nice cake Al, put you in the good books I reckon. Next meet will be October the 14th, hopefully formation loads but will need a bigger turn out to get them going, though can always fill the planes with others so we’ll see what happens. Have a fun month all, stay safe and will see you then”
John

Visitor Book Comments

Robyn Smout: “It was absolutely amazing.  Awesome instructor (Sara).  Would do it again and tell others to do it as well.  Hometown Toogoolawah.”

We spent eight days at Skydive Ramblers and had great time. Awesome DZ, awesome friendly staff, great airplane and facilities. Accommodation on premises was great and very reasonably priced. We also enjoyed after jumping socialising at the bar on DZ and great food both at DZ and in nearby Toogoolawah town. Skydive Ramblers are wingsuit friendly and there is plenty of landing space around DZ.
Highlight of our trip was incredible kangaroo action at landing area - we did literally land on kangaroos and it was great fun :-) There are also wild koalas in the area.
