Here we go again, it’s Newsletter time from….Monday 23rd April and another Learning Curve Camp begins. And what a beaut week it was. Jumpers Hubert Genty (New Caledonia), Kiran Narang, Shai Lewis, Barry Gill, Mitchell Redfern, Ash Robinson and Charmaine Nielsen came from far and wide to visit and to learn, jump and get their landings videoed by Harvey Hutch. Plus Ben’s AFF Instructors’ Course was in full swing. Other regulars and local jumpers came and went all week. All sorts of jumping started happening and went all week in near perfect weather.

Anzac Day Wednesday 25th April was special. Heaps of skydivers came for the day. It was like a Saturday! Our Tandems were Matthew Linning and Natalia Povey.  Students Luke Puxley and Ashley Robinson did jumps towards their licences. The LCC crew were getting plenty of advice and experience. Harvey’s landing video was going down a treat and the evening seminars were good.

On Thursday it was back to business with the LCC. Ben’s new instructors were half way through their course. Adam Mitchell, Robert Stockhill & Blake Price arrived for a Tandem.

Friday was pretty quiet but we still did 5 big Caravan loads. It was all Learning Curve Campers filling the loads. Star Crest attempts were happening. The Sausage Sizzle was good and lead into the last landing seminar of the week. The bonfire was lit. It was a beaut Learning Curve Camp.

There were five new jumpers on Saturday. Trent Richardson, Amy Harburg, Steve Hamilton and local Toogoolawarians Cameron & Julie Lipp all did Tandems.  Student Russell Riley did Stage 8 of his AFF Course. We did 14 sorties with lots of everything happening; Angles and wing suiters, Star Crests, B-Rels, refreshers and fun jumping in general. The pub didn’t know what hit it when two busloads of jumpers arrived for dinner. Then it was back to the fire.

Sunday was just about as busy as Saturday. We did 13 sorties. Again it was a bit of everything, including some scary stuff. A stiff wind roared through just as a few jumpers were landing and caused some unwanted turbulence! It didn’t worry David Pitman & Simone Filshie who enjoyed their Tandem jumps. B-Rels were still the go and there was some sit fly coaching happening.

And then it was all over, there was hardly a soul left on the drop zone. What a great week.

Visitor Book Comments

Adam Mitchell – Very Awesome and Totally worth it.  Big shout out to the staff, Adrian made it easy, Thanks.

Julie Lipp – Better than the first time.  Thanks Dave and Adrian for our tandems… xx

Trent & Jay – Thanks for an awesome jump.

David Pitman & Adrian – Was the best feeling ever.

An absolute Blast. Totally exhilarating. Sarah, my diving buddy was totally professional and competent. She rehearsed my moves. Gave me an opportunity to bail (which was never going to happen but would have been appreciated by a possible nervous type), was a very good tourist guide on the climb out so fabulous experience all round.
Thanks to everyone there.
Cheers, Carol.
