Drop Zone Action

What a massive week at the DZ with Students, Tandems, B-Rels, and Fun Jumpers all firing, and a huge list of AFF completions to celebrate. Massive congratulations to Elouan, Trent, Elliot, Mark, Tyler, George, and Chris, who all finished their AFF Courses with Stage 9 – with Chris smashing out the full course from Stage 1 to 9 in just one week. Unreal effort across the board.

Cheers to everyone who made it out, helped out, jumped in, or just brought the good vibes.

Looking ahead, don’t forget the upcoming Learning Curve Camp from 27 April to 1 May – a week-long event for students and fun jumpers to build skills across all disciplines, with loads of coaching, seminars, and midweek jumping. Here’s to blue skies…

Catch you in freefall,
The Ramblers Crew 🪂

🏁 First Jump Course

This week’s First Jump Course classroom sessions included Chris (Cheuk Lam) starting his 15 Jump Package, along with Kai and Samuel getting their theory sorted and ready to jump. Stewart, Aysha, and Brad joined in as Refreshers to get back up to speed.

Student Progression

Welcome to the skies to Matthew, who progressed through Stages 1 to 5, and to Samantha, Kai, and Fabrizio, all completing Stages 1 to 3. Continuing students Jonathan worked through Stages 5 and 6, and Bradley completed a recurrency jump. Huge congratulations again to Elouan, Trent, Elliot, Mark, Tyler, George, and Chris on completing their AFF Courses – awesome achievements all round.

Thanks to our Instructors for looking after the students and keeping everyone safe in freefall and under canopy, Toddy, Robin, Rebecca, Weaver, Luke, Ashley, Jiayu (Li), John, and Shani.

Tandem Skydivers

Tandem jumpers this week included Isla and Chloe, who went up together on the same load, as well as Brad and Danielle sharing the experience. Also taking the leap were Kim, Courtney, Bibi, Alex, Danielle, and Pavitra, who left a great Visitor Book comment: “Could not have asked for a better time or instructor for my first jump! Thanks to Ash!”

Big cheers to those who took the Video/Photo Package to capture that unforgettable first jump! And an extra thanks to everyone who left reviews – your words inspire the next generation of skydivers.

Thanks to our Tandem Masters Robin, Adam, Shani, and Ashley.

B-Rels, Coach & Fun Jumps

Plenty of progression through B-Rels this week with Patrick completing B-Rels 1 and 2, Peter working through B-Rel 5, and Craig completing B-Rel 5.2. Roni, Matt, and Lisa moved onto B-Rel 6.1, Cyrus completed B-Rel 6.2, and Jack ticked off B-Rel 6.3. Dominic also completed a Refresher coach jump.

Thanks to our coaches Alex, Shani, and Paul for keeping everyone progressing safely.

Saturday the 28th was absolutely huge at the DZ for our Fun Jumpers, with Night Jumps with Travis McCartin lighting up the evening skies – make sure to check out the photos on our Instagram stories.

Belly Bash – Load Organising with Dawn & Chris (Sat. 28th March)

The March Belly Bash – Load Organising with Dawn & Chris delivered perfect weather and an incredible turnout. The drop zone was pumping, the vibes were high, and the sky was filled with some seriously fun formations following the “accordions and arrowheads” theme.

A huge shout-out to Martin and Abby for stepping in and keeping things running smoothly while the Belly Bash OGs were grounded – absolute legends. Massive thanks as always to camera flyers Michael and Luke for capturing all the action, and to all the sponsors for their continued support.

Great people, great skydives, great day – already looking forward to the next one on 23rd May.

Night Jumps

The night jumps on 28 March went off very well and were a great success overall. Everything ran smoothly, the conditions played their part, and the standard of jumping across the group was solid.
We had 26 jumpers involved throughout the night, completing 42 jumps across 3 loads, which kept things moving nicely and made for a great atmosphere.

8 first-timers took on their night jumps and handled it really well. Night jumping can be a big step up, but everyone stayed composed, followed the plan, and got through it without issue.

We also had 8 jumpers reach an important milestone: they have now completed all required night descents and been officially signed off. They’re now cleared to jump with others at night, which is a great achievement and a credit to the effort they’ve put in.

Overall, a really positive night with good progression, good attitudes, and a great result for everyone involved.

Next up, we’ll be putting together a dark night event (no moon) for those who have been signed off—so get ready for that extra level of challenge.
