Drop Zone Action

From first jump excitement through to steady Student progression, coaching jumps, and a full line-up of Tandems, it was great to see so many people pushing their skills and sharing the stoke around the DZ, all making the most of the sky time when weather allowed.

Huge congratulations to ⭐️ Lachlan and ⭐️ Nikita for finishing their AFF Courses with Stage 9 – outstanding effort and a massive milestone ticked off.

Saturday also saw plenty of Fun Jumper action, with Vertical Descent #10 (VDX) bringing great energy to the DZ. We even had a visit from the Elves before we delivered Santa (Ben🎅) safely into the Toogoolawah Christmas Tree Carnival.

🏁 First Jump Course

On Monday the 8th of December, Lachlan, Bonnie, Jean, and Jack completed their First Jump Course classroom session with Robin, while Jack and Justin sat in for refresher training.

On Saturday the 13th of December, Tane and Savannah completed their First Jump Course classroom session with Sara, and Matthew joined as a refresher. These classroom sessions set the foundation, with jumps following once students move into their AFF stages.

⭐ Student Progression

There was plenty of Student progression throughout the week. Jack completed AFF Stages 1 to 3 and officially did his first jump, welcome to the skies.

Lachlan absolutely powered through from AFF Stage 1 all the way to Stage 9, finishing his AFF Course in an outstanding effort, congratulations. And Nikita completed Stages 8 and 9 and wrapped up her AFF Course, well done.

Jean progressed through Stages 1 to 5, Nicholas completed Stage 3, Matt worked through Stages 4 to 7, and Adam continued his progression with Stages 5 to 7.

Thanks to Toddy, Lisa, Rebecca, Kristan, Robin, Millie, and Marc for looking after the students and keeping everyone safe in freefall and under canopy.

Tandem Skydivers

We had a full list of Tandem jumpers taking the leap this week, including Matthew A., Mathys, Ky, Adrian, Jonny, Matt, Anthony, Diesel, Caroline, Damien F., Dean, Curtis, Damien G., Joshua, Dan, Max G., Xander, Charlotte, Sam, Jacob, Jesse, Alice, Archie, William R., Brenden, Matthew T., Blake, Nicholas, Ziggy, and Connor.

Thanks to our Tandem Masters Ty, Matthew, Adam, Oliver, Lisa, and Robin for delivering unforgettable experiences, and good on Toddy for running outside camera for Jonny to capture that unforgettable first jump from a special angle with a Video/Photo Package.

B-Rels, Coach & Fun Jumps

Coach jumps continued strongly, with Samuel F. and Samuel K. completing B-Rels 6.2 and 6.3, while Carlos and Zac worked through their B-Rels 1 and 2.

Thanks to Toddy, Bec, Li, and Zac for the coaching and support as everyone continued building skills and confidence.

Saturday also saw plenty of Fun Jumper action, with Vertical Descent #10 (VDX) bringing great energy to the Drop Zone.

We even had a visit from the Elves before Ramblers delivered Santa (Ben) safely into the Toogoolawah Christmas Tree Carnival, jumping with Adam and Ty into O’Connell’s Park. Ramblers proudly donated a Tandem Skydive for the event raffle, helping spread some festive cheer across the valley.

V D X – Vertical Descent #10

Vertical Descent 10 rolled through Skydive Ramblers last weekend on December 13 & 14. It was our biggest event so far and we closed out the year with some fast sick skydives!

This was an intermediate static HU & HD event featuring 4 coaches/groups and an outside camera. Joining Matt and Dave was 2 special guest coaches Josh and Sonnica who brought high knowledge and skills to share with the 19 participants. John Hannan has been with us on camera for the last 5 events and captured some epic jumps.

The weather turned it on for us with the exception of a few hours of grey stuff on Sunday morning and we completed 9 jumps over the 2 days!

Special thanks to all of the participants, coaches and camera. Skydive Ramblers and all of the team, SQPC and TSC for their continued support of VDStatic!
