Get Your Skydiving Certificate with Skydive Ramblers
IAD training (a.k.a. Traditional “Static Line” Solo Parachuting Method) is the original method of learning parachuting first and then skydiving. Also, it is a cheaper method to learn parachuting and skydiving, and it is ideal for younger people, students, people on a budget and for anybody who would simply prefer to learn parachuting first and then move on to skydiving. Ideal for people with indoor skydiving (wind tunnel) experience.
IAD training begins with a First Jump Course similar to the Accelerated Free Fall First Jump Course except there is no skydiving instruction. The Course starts in the morning with theory and practical training, including landing rolls, emergency procedures, canopy control and exit practice. You do your first jump late afternoon, or early the next morning.
Parachute training consists of 4 Solo parachute jumps from 4’000′ with an immediate parachute opening. After opening there is a four minute parachute ride to the ground, then the landing. Freefall Skydiving is introduced after you complete the 4 solo parachute jumps. You can continue on doing solo parachute jumps if you wish. We recommend that students aim to complete their first four jumps as soon as they can.
Your first freefall skydive is from 14,000′ with a 50-60 second freefall delay. This first skydive of the Course is done with two freefall instructors. During this jump you will practice the skills needed for future solo skydives, including exit and stability training, altimeter and height/altitude awareness, correct body position, general awareness, breathing techniques and parachute activation procedures.
Your next 10 jumps are all solo skydives. The jumps start with 10 second freefalls from 5,000′, then 20 second freefalls from 8,000′ and continue up to 14,000′ with 60 second freefalls. You will learn freefall skills such as turns and backloops, fast and slow fall rates and so on. You will by then have accumulated at least 15 jumps and have qualified for you ‘A’ Certificate from the Australian Parachute Federation.
Please contact Skydive Ramblers for details on booking an IAD Training Course.

This is the place for your AFF Skydive Course! It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life and in no small part due to the great people at the Toogoolawah dropzone. I highly recommend this place for those considering learning how to throw themselves out of a perfectly good airplane. You won't regret your decision.
