For the once-only Tandem jumpers, choose to tandem jump over the Sunshine Coast and land on the beach at Coolum Beach or choose to tandem jump at Toogoolawah drop zone - Ramblers purpose-built skydiving institution.

The minimum age is 14 (with Parents consent) and a 86 year old groover holds the age record at Toogoolawah! Check out the Tandem Skydiving page. Click the tandem skydiving icon to find out more!
For those with a taste of something more than a tandem jump, choose the First Jump Course or try the 'Introduction' 3-jump freefall package, either at Toogoolawah drop zone or Coolum Beach. If you are up for the course or even the sport, choose the 'Completion' 10-jump Freefall package or better still, go hard and go off with the 'Addiction' 20-jump 'A' License package.
For the experienced jumpers, Ramblers drop zone at Toogoolawah is a REAL drop zone, for the fun jumpers - yeah! The 17-place turbine Cessna Caravan flies loads pretty much every day throughout the year - the average is about 4 caravan loads daily mid-week and up to 20 loads daily on the weekend, sometimes with 2-plane formation loads just because we can! Regular events including fun competitions, organised dive days, big boogies, Learning Curve Camps, team training camps and monthly Safety Meetings.

Safety Weekends

Safety Weekends at Toogoolawah are about minimising risk through communication - by spreading knowledge, sharing experience and provoking thought. Ramblers Safety Weekends are held once a month, every month.

Jumpers of all experience levels (ie. Students through to Instructors) are encouraged and urged to attend and participate in as many Safety Weekends as possible – it doesn’t matter what number of jumps you have, there is ALWAYS something new to learn and a lot to be learnt! Topics will vary each month.

Everyone is welcome - regular Toogoolawah jumpers, travelling jumpers and jumpers from other drop zones.

Friday Night’s practical session (usually run by Wayne McLachlan) kicks off after the free Sausage Sizzle in the Turkey Hut. Bring your rig along as this session is mostly about your equipment and packing. Learn more about your gear, how it functions and how to maintain it. Learn what to look out for in regards to wear and tear and get advice on the tips and traps. Use this night to get into the habit of doing your monthly maintenance. Get suspended by your risers and practice cutting away under normal conditions and also high pressure and unusual situations. Learn how to untangle, inspect and hook up your canopy.

Saturday Night’s official Safety Meeting (usually run by Belgium Steve) is held in the Turkey Hut after dinner. Steve runs through the months incidents and accidents (if any) one at a time with a full debrief and explanation of the how’s and why’s. Safety Meetings are concluded with a short, topical seminar by Steve and/or an open Question & Answer session. Bring along your questions and get answers! Check out the drop zone Bloopers tape for a sometimes shocking account of what can, and does, happen.

A wise old fella once said: “Learn from other people’s mistakes, as you won’t live long enough to make them all yourself!” We couldn’t agree more!
