International Students
Ramblers welcomes foreign students for the TAF/AFF skydiving courses on
a regular basis. Foreign visitors generally make a holiday of it and choose
the Addiction Package to complete the course and achieve an A License in approximately
10 days.
Ramblers TAF/AFF courses are recognised worldwide. Licenses issued by the
Australian Parachute Federation are also recognised worldwide.
Skydiving Licenses are of an International standard. When students complete
skydiving courses in a foreign country, most worldwide Federations would like
those students to go home with an A License and preferably a B License. Returning
home with a course completed but no License can cause problems and some students
have been made to re-do some jumps of the course.
Australian rules have recently changed to accept modern Student Equipment with
similar main and reserve deployment systems as Sport Skydiving Equipment ie.
equipment that has a throwaway pilot chute for main parachute deployment (instead
of ripcord) and twin action system for cutaway and reserve parachute deployment
(instead of single operating system SOS). This state-of-the-art, modern equipment
means the student’s transition to sport skydiving equipment is hassle-free
as the system is the same, the handles are in the same places and there is very
minimal training required.
Most visitors to Ramblers Resort want to continue jumping and never want to
leave. Often they wished they had’ve allowed more time, so it is advised
that extra time and money is budgeted for more jumps and to enjoy the unique
drop zone lifestyle!
