For the once-only Tandem jumpers, choose to tandem jump over the Sunshine Coast and land on the beach at Coolum Beach or choose to tandem jump at Toogoolawah drop zone - Ramblers purpose-built skydiving institution.

The minimum age is 14 (with Parents consent) and a 86 year old groover holds the age record at Toogoolawah! Check out the Tandem Skydiving page. Click the tandem skydiving icon to find out more!
For those with a taste of something more than a tandem jump, choose the First Jump Course or try the 'Introduction' 3-jump freefall package, either at Toogoolawah drop zone or Coolum Beach. If you are up for the course or even the sport, choose the 'Completion' 10-jump Freefall package or better still, go hard and go off with the 'Addiction' 20-jump 'A' License package.
For the experienced jumpers, Ramblers drop zone at Toogoolawah is a REAL drop zone, for the fun jumpers - yeah! The 17-place turbine Cessna Caravan flies loads pretty much every day throughout the year - the average is about 4 caravan loads daily mid-week and up to 20 loads daily on the weekend, sometimes with 2-plane formation loads just because we can! Regular events including fun competitions, organised dive days, big boogies, Learning Curve Camps, team training camps and monthly Safety Meetings.

Totally Wild
By Kirsten Souvlis, Network 10 on 08/02/2008

Hi Susie,

I'm just writing to say a huge thank you to you and the whole Skydive Ramblers team for accommodating the crew yesterday. I know it takes a lot of time and energy to set up and film with us and we really appreciate your effort. The stories will be absolutely fantastic and the crew had a terrific day. Thank you also for all of the vision with which you supplied us. It will come in very handy!

The stories should air around April/May. We will definitely contact you 2 weeks before they go to air. Due to the fact that we have so much content we produce, we are normally unable to supply DVD copies of the stories. However, we are most definitely willing to make an exception for you! When you receive your notification of air date email, please contact me. This means that I can go ahead with the dub.

Thanks once again Susie. Have a terrific weekend and please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any story ideas for Totally Wild!

Kind regards,

Kristen

Four of us went for a tandem skydive on Australia Day Saturday 26th January 2008 to celebrate a mate's birthday.
I'd just like to say thanks to my instructor Erin and the other blokes for an entertaining and professional jump and for one hell of a ride.
The DVD was superb...my 3-year-old boy has already watched it half a dozen times and now thinks his daddy can fly!

A big thank you to Travis and Steve. Travis, without your support, guidance and knowledge this would not have been possible. Sorry bout the landing. Steve thanks so much for the fantastic dvd that accompanied the jump, the soundtrack and effects make the whole thing that bit more special. Would also like to say thanks to those on the plane that sang happy birthday to me you all contributed to make the day one to remember. Wow it was an experience that is truly hard to explain. Thank you all.

Skysisters Feedback
By Richard Dale on 27/07/2007

I would like to say that I thought the Skysisters Symposium 2007 was very well organised and an excellent event in skydiving, unfortunately I was only there for Saturday afternoon and a part of Sunday so I did not really take part in the event to comment further. However from what I saw I was very impressed and thought that once again Susie and everyone at Ramblers did an excellent job in putting together the event along with highlighting and raising the profile of skydiving to the media i.e TV and the Courier Mail.

I have only been skydiving for less than a year but have always been impressed by the professionalism, support and events that are run at Ramblers.

Cheers

AFF comeback!!
By Martin McKenzie on 16/07/2007

Can't say thanks enough about everything that's gone on since I've come back for my AFF course.
The training has been fantastic (thanks Peter & Koppel), the attention to saftey and all the detail has been amazing - borderline OCD but I'd prefer that!!.
The people, facilities, encouragement and atmosphere of the place is easy to like.
I'm looking forward to more wind up my nose.

Best wishes!

Skysisters Appreciation Awards
By Tom Clark on 02/07/2007

Hey susie,

Well the uk sucks. It's been raining here for the last 10 days causing floods that would make noah shit his pants. Good news is that I booked my flight back to Oz yesterday and am going to be back for the September learning curve. I was blubbing like a baby when I left Toogs, it's a really special place you guys have got there. A sentiment I have heard over and over again when I talk about Ramblers to those that have been there. Crabs says hi by the way he's planning on coming back for 08 nox with his world champion girlfriend. So I got my mug in the norgie mag, cool. I got my certificate from SS2, thanks alot, I've never had anything like that from any boogie ever, another testament to how much you aussies rock. Say hi to Wayne for me and all the peeps at toogs. See you all soon.

Skysisters - Sponsors Appreciation Awards
By Grant Ball - Waycool Industries on 07/06/2007

Hey Susie,

Thanks for the package that you sent us about the sponsorship, that’s a really good thing to do and sponsors REALLY need to feel appreciated well after any support is given. It’s also a good idea to tell people to mention your event when purchasing from sponsoring suppliers, this is another great way to ensure continued support.

Just some ideas….

Kind regards,
Grant Ball.

Skysisters on TV...
By Arianna Park on 08/05/2007

Hi Susie,
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for hosting such a great
boogie. Skysisters had the best vibe I have ever had the pleasure to partake
in and I did the best flying of my (short) skydiving life. I never thought
that jumping in an atmosphere dominated by women would make such a
difference but indeed, it was all for the better (and the planes smelled
better and were less crowded).

This boogie came at an especially important time for me since I was
beginning to consider quitting the sport. No more of that nonsense! Can't
wait for the weekend and blue skies!

I have a very vague idea of how hard you worked to organize this boogie and
thank you for your vision and effort. Please convey my sentiments to the
rest of the Ramblers organization. Hope to make it back to your dz soon!

Cheers,
Arianna Park

I also wanted to let you know that the bag of goodies Suzie gave you at the ball were from all the girls at skysisters as they all put in for the gift as did Suzie. Once again thank you for everything and thank everyone there for their efforts and looking after my car (which should be gone by now i hope)

Skysisters, world record holders
By Linn Mikkelborg on 06/05/2007

Hei Susie,

WOW! Finally landed after an AWESOME week at Skysisters -what can I say? Thank you for a great boogie!!!

I didn't do ONE jump without learning something and landing with a great, big smile (apart from a couple...but I DID learn heaps from my f*** ups ;-D ). The load organisers and coaches were great (Erica is a GREAT coach and knows exactly what to say for us/me to learn + she's a super-cool chic). Did an AWESOME canopy handling jump with Robbie McMillan, I can't believe how much I learned from that jump!!!

The slaves to the Sisters -what an excellent idea, and what a great job they did, wouldn't have been the same without them...

World Record holders, hey Susie? We've been on the news all over, and I've been a b-celebrity in Norway the last week, journalist's been phoning up doing interviews -unreal! I'm not even allowed to jump my wingsuit in Norway yet as there's a 500-jumps limit, HAHA :-)

The ball was wicked! I had sooo much fun and we all looked soooo beautiful after a week in jumpsuits and dust.

Thanks again Susie and everyone else who contributed to making Skysisters 2007 a success, I can't wait for the next one! Heard a rumour that it will not be another Skysisters in 4 years, I really hope his is not true....!

See you soon, chickie :-)

Blue skies and long flights

Skysisters
By Lesley Gale on 04/05/2007

Hey Susie!

Just wanted to congratulate you on a superbly run event where I could see
one of the many things we have in common is that you really care. This was
an event run for the good of the sisters (and bruvvas) and that shows what a
special person you are as well as making for a top time for all. I didn't
hear a single negative comment all week and I heard a helluva lot of good
ones. All the firsts, triumphant faces and beaming smiles spoke for
themselves :)

Also, you have a wonderful drop zone, fantastic layout, chill vibe, super
efficient and professional staff and very safely run. Please pass on my
thanks and congratulations to everyone. Your place became even more amazing
when Wayne said it was but one house when he first started there. Speaking
of Wayne - well! You deserve someone really super special and you sure have
it there!

I would have emailed before but it's taken me this long to recover!! I have
some funny very dodgy photos of Macca and a few other mad people, will fire
them off when I get a chance. I know I'll visit you again, let me know if
you'd like another yellow pommie organiser for Equinox, if not no dramas, I
will most probably come and be a happy customer.

Huge hugs to you girl and my congrats again on your success, if I can make
people half as happy next week at Brit Chicks I'll be doing good

Love, x
Lesley

Skysisters Symposium 2007
By Jill Grantham on 02/05/2007

Hi Susie,

I wanted to write and thank you and the girls for your innovation, determination, passion and effort which lead to Skysisters 2007. I previously have been hesitant to attend boogies, due to anxiety of leaving my comfort zone, but skysisters offered a supportive environment which allivated that worry. The last week has been more than a boogie to me, I have conquered many of my fears, in jumping and I have also learnt a lot about myself as a person, ie I didn’t know I had the determination to do some things like crw, skysurf or jump without cat J, also I found out I don’t mind being a dork as long as It’s funny, heheh. I don’t think I would have been able to do this in another environment with the same level of comfort that was at skysisters. Congratulations on a fantastic event and thank you for everything that you put in to make it happen.

Cheers
Jill

Skysisters Symposium 2007
By Jane Mattingly on 01/05/2007

Hi Susie

I just want to congratulate you on an awesome job you have done to organise
the week that was Skysisters 2. I had such a wicked time as I know others
did too. Well done Susie your a legend!

The ball was fantastic, a great way to end the week. So good that I slept
in & missed the bus to the airport & had to wake Cecillia up & get her to
give me a lift. We got there just in time for me to check in & quickly run
upstairs and board the plane. Phew - that was close. So I didn't get a
chance to say goodbye to anyone. So thank-you again for inviting me. I had
an absolutely awesome time, it was great catching up with old friends and
making new ones.

I must admit I feel very sad now it is all over & I've got the post boogie
blues already. Its hard to adjust to the real world after such an amazing
week.

Anyway I hope you are able to relax a bit now it is all over. You did an
outstanding job Susie & made many of us sisters very happy. Well done
possum!!

Take Care & keep in touch

Love Jane

By Jules McConnel on 30/04/2007

Hi Susie,

Thanks again for an awesome boogie, I had a great time, it was such an awesome vibe - thanks to all your hard work of putting it together. I've spoken to heaps of people who just had a ball, and said it is the best boogie ever because of the vibe - not so much testosterone, and lots of fun playing slave/master game (from boys and girls I've heard this!)

Thanks again, skysisters rock!

By Helen Bigland on 30/04/2007

Susie

I'm back home now dealing with aching muscles and post-boogie blues. But just wanted to let you know I had a ball and massive thanks to you for organising such a great week. The coaches were on the whole really great and I learnt plenty. Plus I got to jump from a Tiger Moth!

Catering was fantastic (I'll have to get Toots to lift her game!), DZ facilities were great, load organisers were putting together some really fun stuff, manifest coped admirably. No complaints anywhere! I'm really looking forward to getting my DVD's so I can watch the day tapes again, what a great job all the boys did with them. I'll make sure the WA girls see them so they can't get their backsides over there for next time!

I'm sure its been damned hard work putting this all together but it was worth it, for me anyway :o) thanks for organising!

Hi Susie,

I really enjoyed flying my helicopter at Ramblers on the weekend.
My adrenalin is still pumping on monday morning!

Sorry I had to let a couple of jumpers down on sunday afternoon but I was concerned about my fuel for my return trip to Archerfield. I arrived home with 40 litres (and 40minutes) but its quite hard to judge what I had to start with within 20 litres...

Tagoolawah Equinox 06
By Simone on 25/10/2006

Hi All,

I just wanted to write a quick not to thank al the staff at Toogoolawah for an absolutely perfect first jump. I surprised my bf with a jump on the first day of the equinox boogie 06 and even though it was hectic every single person we spoke to was super friendly and full of advice. We were all freaking out but the professionalism and friendliness of the staff there made it one of the best experiences of our lives. My sister, bf and I are all hooked and cant wait to make the mission back to do it again very soon!!

Thanks so much Paul (PT) for the fantastic vid, for Rob McMillan for being so bloody patient with me the ENITRE time (I even made us crash land and he was cool about it – sorry AGIN about that :P ) and to the guy who took my kid sister (I’m SO sorry I cant remember your name).

Words cannot explain how amazing it was to make the first jump. So a big thanks to everyone there who said hi, encouraged us and jumped with us. And congrats on such a wonderful team of staff and friendly environment.

CONGRATULATIONS BELGIE!
By NEIL MCKENZIE on 27/03/2006

Congratulations to Belgie ( Belgian Steve Geen) on passing the tremendous milestone of his 10,000th jump recently. Hell of an achievement and a tribute to his 20+ years of jumping! Well done Belgie!
I have been fortunate enough to get to know Belgie (also as an instructor and jumpmaster) and there is no finer instructor on the planet.

I will also have my fingers crossed as Belgie competes with the Australian 8-way formation team at the World Champs in Germany this year and best wishes also to his partner Marlies who will be jumping with the Australian Women's 4-way formation team.

Blue Skies always!

50th B/day jump
By Steve E Tyler on 17/03/2006

A big thank you to all at Ramblers for a thrill of a lifetime. After waiting for a blue patch in the sky and to say one of the instructors was going to a wedding that afternoon the team was terific, apart from trying to scare me with something about sky tax....I have to say I recomend everyone should experience the joy and excilleration of the freefall and after the chute openes the sights of mount coolum and the beautifull beaches. Not bad for someone who has conquered his fear of hights. At 14,000 ft gives a new meaning to High. Thanks again to you all...

Addiction Package
By Neil McKenzie on 13/03/2006

I can highly recommend Ramblers and the Addiction Package. Having just jumped with them they are the greatest group of instructors on the planet and the Addiction Package is the best value training package on the market. My stay did not quite work out as planned (my fault entirely) but my thanks and utmost respect go to the best JM on the planet Belgie, JM2s Ryan (Spreader) and Gus, Photographer Andre, Wayne, Leanne, Motzi, Tuen, Rodney, Lee, Karen, Marilyn in the cafe, Helen the pilot. Best set out dz in Australia. Do yourself a favour, forget the rest, Ramblers are the best!
Congratulations to Susie and Wayne on the wedding and Belgie - party hard on the 10,000th jump!

course & BREDA
By Caroline on 20/01/2006

I did my jump about three years ago now and my biggest regret is not sticking around
to do a course. When i was there, you guys were looking for a receptionist and i was serioulsly
considering taking take the job and then do the instructors course but i travelled on the backpacker
route and eventually came home to Ireland.

SO FOR ANY OF YOU DOING A JUMP AND you really love it i'd recommend doing one of the courses
and don't have any regrets ! I might still come back some day and do it.

Big hi to Breda who should be on the way down the coast now, i've told her to only do her jump
here at ramblers.

Skysurfing the November Learning Curve Camp
By Paul Taylor (aka PT and Dancin' Paul) on 09/12/2005

Hi Susie,

I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank you and all the staff at Ramblers for a fantastic week during the November Learning Curve Camp. As you know I have not been able to play for a whole week for some time so I really had a fantastic week. The coaches were all very good and Nada's skydiving improved so much from a week of jumping as well.

As for me I have been trying to learn how to Skysurf for sometime and I was so happy when you told me that you had arranged for Rob Simunic to come up and do some coaching. It was also very beneficial as I have had a number of people come and ask me about how they can learn or at least try skysurfing so it was really good to be able to chat with Rob about the skills people need to have first and go over the initial training again.

It was also great that Rob got Craig Trimble to come up and do some camera work and also give some advice about how to film a Skysurf jump. I got some nice photo's from Craig so thankyou very much.

Rob told me at the start of the week that he would have me on a full size board by the end of the week which didn't take very seriously at all. He brought his boards up anyway and in the first few days had fixed many of the problems I had been having and had me doing forward and backward layouts (very cool), sit spins, and helicopter's (head down and spinning). I was feeling really good and confident on the intermediate board when he suggested the Big Board again I said cool and was really looking forward to it. The first jump on it I was pretty nervous but got control and all I can say is "WHAT A RUSH!!!!". The second jump on the big board I was still nervous and while setting up in the door managed to fall out of the plane, the funny thing is I stopped thinking about the board and just stood up on it straight away, very very cool.

For the whole week both Rob and Craig were very cool and the coaching was exceptional. To top it all off Rob left me his full size training board to use and explained what's involved in making one.

Thanks again to all the people involved in making the Learning Curve Camp such a great week, the Staff, Coaches, and Monkey who worked constantly to make up what looks to be a fantastic DVD of the week.

Thanks again

Susie,

Thank you so very much for organising Skysisters – it was a real credit to you!! I know how hard it is to organise a boogie and how much effort and work goes in behind the scenes. You worked tirelessly to get this event up and running, and it showed! Thanks to you, Macca, your family, the camera flyers, the organizers, Big Al, the pilots, manifest, the instructors, the café, the volunteers and everyone that I may have forgotten, Skysisters was a huge hit! I hope it was as successful for you as it was for the us, the participants! THANK YOU!

Thanks again luv!! Youre a legend!

Love, hugs and Skysisters kisses!

Hey!!!

What can I say??!! Once again, thanx for having looked after me soooo much and sooo well, I know some day I will be able to give back!! I cannot express how much I enjoyed myself in T'wah again. Everytime I come back it feels like some part of me has never left ...

I think it was a great boogie, and I hope you will keep Skysisters as a regular boogie!! I can't emagine anywhere better for it to happen, honestly!!

Well, for me I'm back to work - music, music, music ... ;-)) I am finsihing a small CD I've done with my band this month. I will surely send you your own Ramblers copy, no worries!!

For Equinox 2006 I have some things planned though! I want to make a special Equinox 2006 limited edition CD with some "best of Herman" tunes (what a laugh!). Maybe also come up with a good theme song that I produce over here and bring over, maybe even send to you in advance.

Anyway, so much from me for now!! Yahooooo, Hermzzz

P.S.: Will play a gig at my local DZ this weekend for the opening night of a new bar there. Someone must have spread the word that I play for skydivers ... ;-))

Hi to everyone at Ramblers!

I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped me through my AFF course in March: it really was the most awesome and unforgettable two weeks of my life! Learnt so much and met some amazing people during the fortnight. Any backpackers thinking of doing their AFF on the East Coast, do it at here!

Big thanks to Steve and Marlies for your great instruction and teaching. Thanks also to Motzi for jumping out with me on my first ever jump and Deb for spanking my arse on stage 2 - think it did the trick!

Shouts out to Macca, Tom, Spready, Roeland, the pilots Rob and Adam, and the team at manifest Paul, Lee and Mel - thanks for all your advice and making me feel so welcome. Hope to see you all at the Equinox 2006!

Best wishes

AFF Course
By Leila Nethercoat on 22/11/2004

Dear Everyone,

Never in my wildest dreams did I think it could be this much fun. I am well and truly addicted for life! Thank you so much to all that made it what it was...the Crabs', Laura, Claire, etc. Special thanks to Ryan for giving me the opportunity to land in someone's back garden! And just everyone else for being so great.

Belgi you were fantastic. I will remember these last 2 weeks for the rest of my life...especially all those landings and the backflip deployment. I am forever grateful. Thanks.

Marlise, Rodney, Macca - thanks for everything too. I'll be seeing you all...hopefully sooner than expected. Cheers everyone.

Leila.

AFF Course
By Tom Pall on 22/11/2004

To all at the Toogoolawah Drop Zone. Cheers for letting me into your world and the extended family of skydivers that congregate here. My experience here surpassed all the expectations I had of AFF and skydiving in general. You'll have to excuse the handwriting - a minor incident involving indecent exposure and a signal flare prevents me from the use of the quite useful index finger. (Just as well it's only my finger that's out of action!)

Big thanks goes to Marlies for getting me through AFF - even after I ran into you during a backward spiral toward the ground (Stage 5) and the near heart attacks from my down wind landings. Wilson for my first tandem & 'arse-grabbing' DRPs. Suzie for the rodeo bootscooting. Scooty for the magical moment shared by a moth & a grasshopper. Carol for your first aid. Macca for convincing me over the phone that Ramblers was the go. Roland for packing this cripples' rig. And to all the staff including Wayne, Debbie, Paul, the pilots, manifest & canteen workers for making my time here as enjoyable as it was.

And one last big thanks has to go to Belgi for your guidance, pub night and of course....the flare run!!!

See you all soon! Tom.

Ramblers Equinox Song
By Hazel Black on 21/11/2004

(Sung to the tune of Benny Hill’s “Ernie, the fastest milkman in the west”)

You could hear the slider sounds
As he raced towards the ground
And the whistling of the wind speed
As he spun round and round

He flew into the landing area
His alti on his wrist
They call him “Macca”...
And he runs the bests drop zone in the east

Now Ramblers aircraft owner
Is a pilot know as Al
He operates three Caravans
And some 182s as well

He also flies an air tractor
Dusting crops across the bush
He made him money cotton farming
And now he’s living plush
They call him “Big Al”...
and he flies the fastest caravans in the east

Now Macca has a girlfriend
A lady known as Ali
She slaves behind the manifest
With Narelle, Bec and Lee

She’s up first thing in the morning
To prepare for a busy day
She hardly gets a break
Let alone get out to play
They call her “Ali”...
and she runs the best shop in the east

Macca also has a daughter
A lady known as Suse
And she edits ASM
A mag for me and you

They say she works too hard
She’s a grafter slim and chic
But she still does Wayno’s laundry
three times every week
They call her “Susie”...
and she edits the best skydiving mag in the east

Now Ramblers boogie has started
Which around the world is known
As the best skydiving party
To which you have ever flown

Organisers, coaches and jumpers
All travel from afar
To experience the Aussie welcome
And ring the bell at the bar

There’s a great video every night
From Elad and his gang
With screams of “we want Packmaster 2000”
Constantly being sang

Now let’s put our hands together
And shout out a big cheer
To all the staff at Ramblers
For the best skydiving boogie of the year
“Ramblers”...
It IS the best Drop Zone in the east!

Hi Susie,

Nox rocks!

Just wanted to say "hi" and thanks. The two weeks i spent there was just what i needed - i've been telling every one about it since i've been back. Made some great new friends, got to jump with some of the world's best freeflyers and learnt heaps. Drank the town dry of Coronas and ate the country's best steak.

Hope to get there again soon!

Thanks for all your (and everyone else's) hard work to make it so enjoyable.

Project no:
Hi there,
Many thanks from a couple of kiwi POPS who had a fantastic time - a big thankyou to the organisers, office administration, manifesters, load organisers, pilots, & not to forget all the people behind the scenes loading in supplies, loading out garbage, cleaning, cleaning, more cleaning...don't think for an instant that all those things weren't noticed because they were! Fantastic efforts from an army of people mostly working behind the scenes.

We were there for the main week, but not long enough & missed any opportunities to purchase photos or photographic records of the meet. Is it possible to provide contact details of the cameramen? In our case, Archie was the main guy filming our POPS stuff. Could perhaps details be posted on your website?

Thanks again for an awesome experience!

To all those people who were invloved in organising the Equinox 2004 Boogie
- THANK YOU.

I had a excellent one and a half weeks of jumping and would particularly
like to say that Dave Morris did an excellent job of organising the big
ways. I was fortunate enough to jump with him on almost all of his big way
jumps and particularly appreciated his display of professionalism and
enthusiasm for the sport (anybody who said they nearly had an orgasm in the
air when we nearly got the second point of a big way must be enjoying
themselves! ). I sincerely hope that Dave will be invited to the next
Equinox Boogie and I will do my utmost to be there.

Thanks again

Skydiving
If you want to experience adrenalin
That takes you all the way
Try sky dive with ramblers
There open seven days

You can chose to do tandem
Or one of there many courses too
No matter what it is you want
Ramblers can cater for you

My first time was tandem
And I have been the only one
Whose wore their bikinis on the out side?
Just for a little extra fun

When we got out to the airport
I didn’t say but I was scared to bits
We were doing a lot of video footage
Most of it was about my tits

We took off in a tiny plane
That felt like it would fall apart
But we finally got to 10’000feet
My jumps just about to start

They opened up the door
The cold air sent a chill down my spine
Stuwart jumped out first
I guess now it is my time

When I was in free fall
I took the super man stance
Than asked how’s my girls?
Shacking my boob’s with my hands

I pretended I was a swimmer
Doing breast stroke in the sky
I figured I better look good on camera
In case all goes wrong and I die

When the Para shoot opened
I couldn’t believe what I could see
The view went on forever
That moment I’ve never felt so free

I just felt like a leaf
Floating gently in the air
The beautiful beach below me
And breeze running through my hair

The landing was perfect
Both our feet planted on the sand
Luke UN hooked me from him
Then I turned and shook his hand

We went back to the office
To sort the video footage out
They’ve never met anyone like me
Someone who fools about

The video turned out great
Well of course it’s about me
My first ever tandem jump
Over the deep blue sea

Well now that its over
I so want to do it more
So watch out ramblers super girls
Will come knocking on your door

Fantastic course
By Andy Smith on 13/10/2004

I did my addiction package in September and would highly recommend it to anyone, no I wouldn't I would very very highly recommend it.
I had a fantastic week, the instruction was wonderful and the hospitality from everyone was a credit to Ramblers. I have lots of wonderful memories, an empty wallet, a new hobby and a taste for Tooheys!
I could name many people that I would want to thank, everyone at Ramblers is wonderful even Debs the bully (only joking). Marlies and Belgy Steve both helped me tremendously especially as it took me 5 landings before I got it right!
If you are thinking of doing the course, stop thinking and do it, it will change your life. I am back in the UK now and Skydiving chances are not as good, so I will probably have to emigrate! Hello and thanks to everyone and for those that remember me my ears are ok now!

By Justin on 06/09/2004

About ten years ago I had my first taste of sky diving in Darwin and due to work commitments I was unable to do more than 3 jumps. Now I have the time I thought I would go and see what ramblers at Toogoolawah was all about. Well did I get a shock! First impression was this is a very well oiled and well organised DZ. the staff were very friendly and every one was having a good time. I had my 2 young boys with me and the staff was very friendly and playful with them. They suggested that I take them over to the fooz ball while we waiting for drop, which I did and I don’t know if the kids liked fooz ball or the floating canopy the most. They never stoped talking about it all the way home. Not like to usual "are we there yet". If you ever get the chance to go a have a look, don’t think twice, just get the kids and wife and do it. Even if it’s just for an afternoon drive there's lots of other things to do on the way.
Ramblers WELL DONE!!! And thank you for your hospitality

Thanks

Dear Susie,

I’m sitting here heading my first ASM and it dawned on me how I can thank all of the “Sky Gods” sho showed me how to fly.

Recently I completed my AFF and Stage 6 of my B-Rels in an Addiction Package at Ramblers, Toogoolawah. By beautiful twin sister, Marie, is the first person I want to thank, for introducing me to my new found life just when I thought it was getting drab despite the constant 290 kmph phsycotic trips up and down the Stuart Highway in Darwin. We hadn’t seen in other in a few years and Marie told me about Bachelor Rel Week and how we could meet up there since I was working just down the highway. After one day at the DZ I was hooked, not only on the skydiving but more so on the attitude of every person that I met. I couldnt believe the carefree spirits, morale and commeradery. Thank you Marie, I knew you brought me here for a reason. Secondly I want to thank Handbrake for making me feel like I belonged somewhere, he is a legend to me. Most of all to my mentor, Paul Dredge, mate I’m so overwhelmed in your presence I feel like a young bird whom without you could never have learned to fly. Thank you for taking me under your wing. I know it’s your job but I felt safe and secure knowing you were there when I was taking on the scariest thing I have ever done. Terry Garbutt, thanks for inspiring me and not letting me give up when it seemed like I was never going to be able to save the money, you too are a legend. Dan Short, thank you for your inspiration to me, you are up there iwth Handbrake. Belgy, Marlies, Debbie, Kerrie (TullY), Motzi, Eric, Ben, Dorsal, Buck and Kim, thank you for always having the time to anser my questions and give me encouragement. Nik without you I couldn’t have realised my dream all pilots are legends. Sarge and Ben, thank you for your wisdom and assistance that I found truly inspiring, a part of skydiving that gives me so much faith in human beings, I’ve never experienced that before. Orby thanks for so many things. I dont know where to start man, but mostly for making Marie so happy. Susie, thanks for the guidance you gave me that brought me here. I am indebted to you forever. Wayne you make me want to be 1/10th as good as you and I’ll be happy. Lastly Rob McMillan, thank you for speaking to me at a level I could understand. You helped me so much, without your influence I’d still be landing on my arse crosswind. I am honoured to have been fortunate enough to be in the presence of you and Drew at the Learning Curve Camp. Thank you to everyone I’ve met so far who all helped me in their own way. You are all my SKY GODS.

Peter Agnew.

Hi Guys,

Firstly i want to thank you all for such a fantastic week, i have learned so much and this is only the begining of my ongoing learning curve. I have not only taken away new skills (B Lic), but also taken away such fantastic memories of good times and great friends. Ramblers have really spoiled me with there amazing drop zone and all the great resources that they have (it will be very hard to go back to 10,00ft).
A big thank you to all the staff who have such an enthusiasm for life and their sport and are more than happy to pass on their knowledge to all of us. A big thanks especially to Susie who got me started on my B Rels, and also to Steve and Marlise who helped me complete my B Rels it was so good to have relaxed smiling faces in the air.
The videos were of so much benefit to learning and it is great to have some footage of jumps (even though some of it is embarrassing, especially the landings). Keep up the good work guys and look forward to seeing you all in the very near future.

Learning Curve July 04

July Learning Curve Camp

What a fantastic week, memorable in so many ways. Catching up with old friends I hadn’t seen for 20 years or more and making many new ones as well as spending days jumping and packing until every part of me ached, it got to the point where I didn’t know if I’d be able to make it the following day as I’d been doing more jumps over the week than I probably had done over 12 months.

As things have changed so much since my heydays, it was my aim to improve my flying skills and increase my capabilities of getting into and around formations. What a learning curve it was when at the end of each jump to see the blunders and shortfalls and ultimately become more in touch with what the real problem was which was that I didn’t want to seem to be or feel out of touch among my peers.

The evening seminars topped off what was always the end of a great days jumping along with the bar being opened and the constant ringing of the bell

By the end of the week I felt I was capable and able to perform as well as any of the younger jumpers.

The atmosphere was that of a mini boogie with Sunday night at the local pub being a great beginning and Dave’s Friday Night sausage sizzle topping off the week. By Saturday I was totally exhausted and we decided to call it quits we had already had a great week.

Thank you to EVERYONE at Ramblers, specifically Luke for your guidance, Dave for organising such a great experience.

It was great catching up at the Bali Boogie, hope to see you next year.

By Harry McIntosh on 07/08/2004

Hi Ramblers team - what a great experience the camp was, the videos of the jumps has really helped me look at ways to improve my freefall and landings. The attention and patience showed by the team was fantastic and really demonstrates the co-operation and spirit in the skydiving community.
Another learning curve camp is definitely on the cards - still too much I need to try out - CRW and freefly are on the list! Good luck to Belg Steve and Marlese in the Bali 100 way.
Thanks again guys, I really found it hard to leave to go home.
Kind Regards

The experience was undescribable, flying through the air with nothing between you and the ground. I can't stop boasting about it to my mates back home and i can't wait to do it again. Thanks for one of the best experiences of my life.

To Wayne, Joe & the Crew at Coolom Beach Drop Zone, you are all Great!! Andrew & I are still talking about our experience, what a anniversary present, I still really don't believe that I actually did jump, neither do any of my friends. When I tell them they say "oh, yeah" when they see the video and photos they say "Wow, you really did jump!" We can't wait until we come again. Erin, you were right I look at each day in a new light and continually look up to see what is happening, wishing I was up there free falling and enjoying the sky. We really enjoyed the magazine and I loved reading all the articles and checking out all the cool things you can do with experience. Guys you have a great life in your office of the sky! Good on you for doing what you love.
Andrew & Wendy Jacobsen
PS Joe I hope your mum enjoyed here first sky dive, and you have enjoyed your family being with you.
You're a ledgend!! You gave me confidence to sky dive and the sky dive has given me confidence for life.
Cheers

Boogie 'til you drop
By Links Manager on 05/04/2004

Amazing, Awesome, Spectacular, all this and more. Went from Canada to Ramblers for the Xmas boogie. Best decision! Truly they have a reason to be famous for fun. Met some cool jumpers from around the world, who have become friends. Learned tonnes, did some incredible dives. Dave's famous Friday sausage night, lots and lots of 1sts...and you know what that means! :-) Not even a question, the best DZ I have been to for facilities et al. Look out Equinox!

Tandem Jump
By Richard Ridings on 04/04/2004

Hi Team,
Thanks very much for the Tandem Jump, it was a great thrill. I got such a bagging when I show about 40 friends at a Dinner one night. I think I got them hooked, should be signing up more soon. The video shows the parachute a little 'flappy' when released, is that typical when the chute is launched. Doesn't really matter because I am still here to talk about it. Love it, I'm coming back again real soon!

Thanks for a great long lasting memory.

Richard Ridings

Thank You
By Richard Coyle on 25/03/2004

Dear Dave,

I felt I must write and thank you and your team for the excellent times I have had at Ramblers.

I first arrived on the drop zone on the 6th August 2003, intending to stay for a week and complete the 20-jump Addiction Package. However I went on to spend a total of ten weeks in Toogoolawah and left with 60 jumps, my B License, some great memories and some great friends.

In that time I have received expert instruction from your friendly and welcoming staff. I thank them all for teaching me so much. I am quite convinced that there is no other place where my skydiving progression will be met with such enthusiasm and commitment from instructors and fun jumpers alike.

As my journey around the world draws to a close I can honestly say that my times in Toogoolawah have been the highlight. There is a remarkable athmosphere at Ramblers that is relaxed, friendly and professional. I will never hesitate to recommend jumping there to anyone who cares to listen to me.

The drop zone is a true credit to you and your staff and you should be rightfully proud of all that you have achieved there.

I will definitely be continuing my jumping in England but I am already counting the days until I return to Toogoolawah.
Thanks again and please keep up the good work.

Kind regards,
Richard Coyle.

Great Experience
By Nick Arthurs on 13/01/2004

I contacted Jo at the Coolum drop zone and she had one more spot on New Years Eve, so I took my friend down there and surprised her. She was pretty nervous but she loved it, she was on a high for hours. She got a video and stills done also, and loves re-living the jump by watching it.

Thank you Ramblers for the experience.

Goodbye & Thanks
By Stefan Radtke on 30/12/2003

30th December, 2003

Hello everybody,
Because I left quite in a rush on Monday I want to say goodbye to the
guys I didn’t get to before I went to the airport.

Thanks for your patience when I had some difficulties with the language
and asked you to repeat everything the third time. I think you did a great
job to get me into skydiving.

Thanks to the guys who helped me with the questions for the A-licence. I
learned a lot by listening to you, and special thanks to Blakey, Ben, Wayne
and Ben C. for the hybrid jump on Monday. It was awsome and I think I'll never forget this one!!

Have a good time and have good fun during the boogie.

Thanks,
Stefan Radtke

I'm Impressed!
By Meredith Scales on 06/12/2003

Hi to you all,

I just wanted to let you know how impressed with your organisation I was.
I did my first tandem skydive yesterday and from the moment I booked it
until receiving my video I just felt very comfortable and was impressed by
the professionalism of all concerned.

In fact that what was convinced me to use you over your competitors -
There is nothing I can say explicitly but your website presentation and brochure just all have little touches or words which seemed more professional to me than your competitors. This was born out from as soon as I booked with
Miranda taking details and trusting me to do the skydive because she was
about to go on a jump. When I phoned the following week to check if I
needed to send a deposit Miranda told me that it was OK. So I was trusted
therefore I am more likely to trust you!

On my arrival on Sunday Susie made me feel welcome and was honest about
The danger of the sport and when I may feel most apprehensive - jumping out of
the plane -and she was right! Then Merlise (I hope you know who I mean)
came to introduce herself because she would be taking the video and stills and
again tried to put me at my ease. Then I met Luke and despite his joking I again immediately felt comfortable.

I was impressed with the way he and the other tandem operators explained
what would happen and what they need me or the others to do. It was clear
and concise without being patronising. The suiting up was also done well
with constant checks of the equipment and securing of the harness. The
flight was well managed but nothing seemed to be taken for granted.
And the final video was well edited with appropriate music and just
general care. For people who deal with lots of different people in all sorts of
states of anxiety/nervousness all the Ramblers personnel with whom I had
contact were courteous, caring and professional and obviously enjoyed what
they did and seemed happy to share it again and again.

Thank you ALL!

Meredith Scales

Great Week
By Andrew Winter on 17/11/2003

To all the gang at Ramblers,

Just a short note that I got home safe. After Ramblers I ended up at
Airlie Beach for a while and am now checking myself into the Betty Ford
clinic to re-establish my kidneys as a functioning organ once again.

Anyway I just wanted to say I had a great week up there and can’t wait to
get back. I learned a lot about skydiving, chilling out and just not
worrying about what was going on with the outside world. Bottom line I had
a top time even if I did forget my rig. Thanks John, for looking after it
mate. My shout for a carton when I get back.

Tell Marlies I will be hassling Robbo to help me work on my exits and we
will be back up at Xmas to jump and party and who knows maybe get my
starcrest.

Take it easy guys. See you soon and thanks again.

Cheers,
Andrew Winter

Awesome Experience
By Wayne Lingard on 14/11/2003

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to write and say, thank you guys so much for an awesome experience last Sunday morning. After several attempts and 7 months waiting it was great to finally challenge myself to do it. Like, just jump out of a plane at 12,000 ft, yeah piece a cake. It was such an incredible feeling..............., hell I think I'm just going to have to come and do it again. I watch the video and feel the feelings all over again, I then think that this could become very addictive.

You all made it such a wonderful experience, from taking all 8 of us down to the airport to see me getting prepared, then taking them back to the drop zone. Cool, calm, friendly and professional instruction. Great scenic flight up to height. Then the Jump itself.......(I can feel it again). Some really cool video footage (including the shot of Rob's feet dancing through the sky, we just love that bit ) with some fabulous music edited in and great stills as well. Thanks Jo for convincing me to get the video. It is sooooo worth it.

Well I hope you get the impression that I am really happy, 'cause that's what I am. So to Jo, Wayne, Rob, Wade and Dave thanks heaps guys, hope to see ya again soon.
Wayne Lingard

Awesome!!
By Paula Williams on 26/05/2003

Hi Rob and Wayne,

My best friend and I jumped last Monday (May 19) and I just wanted to say thank you so much...

Our jump was AWSOME!!

Even though we had perfect conditions it was made even better because of you guys. I didn't think that I would be so calm, I thought I would get a little nervous.

Rob, thanks for making it soooo much FUN!

I can't wait to do it again...

Also, thanks for the 2nd video, I thought all my memories had been chewed up!

Hope to see you again soon...

THANK YOU!
By Tanya Piper on 26/05/2003

Just to say once again, THANK YOU! to your fine crew: Jo & Wayne
Morrison, Dave the pilot, Rob and Wade. Your professionalism and fantastic
sense of humour made our first time experience at sky diving a memorable
one. We have been recommending your crew to anyone who has a heartbeat,
and is up for the challenge. My children: Darren, Tina and all their friends
who joined them in the jump (plus those of us who spectated the even)
thoroughly enjoyed the day. Your team certainly live up to the Ramblers
motto: FAMOUS FOR FUN.
Thank you,

I'd like to say a big thankyou for all the effort you put in to make

our fears and made great company. Skydiving has been the topic of
conversation all week and we look forward to doing it again (but this
time at night!) Well, hope to see you all soon. Until then
take care!

Inspiration
By Luic on 09/12/2002

Hi fellow Rambling people,

This is a token of my appreciation. You people are an inspiration to life. I am having withdrawal symptoms cause I haven't been in the air for 2 days. Luic needs to return to his natural habitat in the atmosphere. I am getting back up there as soon as possible, I am hooked for life!!!!! Thank you everyone for being who you are. Jack is my mentor and I could not have asked for a better instructor. I’m his servant in the sky. Would you like a backflip with that? My mother is very ill and her condition is weakening rapidly. I am leaving for New Zealand on Thursday to have 1 last holiday with my family before the inevitable tragedy. I will be away for 2 weeks which means I will miss the Xmas party (I am pissed off ) But this holiday is the most important thing to my family and I. Straight after I get back I will trek to the drop zone and obliterate my bank account. Thankyou everyone hope to see you as soon as possible.

Love to the sky and the people falling through it,
Luic

Learning Curve Camp
By Anna Smerdon on 06/12/2002

Hi Susie,
Thanks again for the Learning Curve Camp. It was such a learning curve and sooo fantastic! Can you please pass on a big thankyou to Marlies from me. I wanted to thank her again for all her work with me. I really felt so comfortable and confident with her and wanted her to know that. And to all the other instructors too, especially Belgium Steve and Luke, the other two instructors I jumped with. You have a great crew up there and I feel so glad that we made the decision to join in the camp. Thanks again.

We went to Adelaide on the weekend and got a few jumps in. It is so great being able to jump together. And the Cessna 182 and 10,000 feet is not as bad as I thought it would be! Still the Caravan rocks!

Cheers for the LCC. (we've sent off for our licences, but are still waiting to receive them) It was a BLAST!

See ya in the air!

Firstly, thanks to the LCC crew for a great drop zone, awesome aircraft,

I would just like to take this moment to thank the Coolum Staff for their professionalism and the time they took to care for my son and his friends on Saturday the 9th November. They made the boys tandem jump enjoyable and I feel this was an experience that they will always remember. I am sure they will return and be welcomed again by these people.

Thankyou for your wonderful help in making this gift to my son a memorable one.

Professional
By Christine O'Driscoll on 23/06/2002

Hi,
I recently booked a skydive with Jo, at the Coolum Drop Zone, for my husband's 30th B'day. I was nervous in doing so and only made the decision to do this as a surprise because of a recommendation given by a good friend of ours, Trevor Blake. He had organised a jump through Shelly some years back and said for me to not even consider ringing anyone else but RAMBLERS.

I'm glad I took his advice. Although I'm not jumping, it's nerve wracking for me. as it is to be a total surprise for my husband who has always thought I'd either never fork out the cash or wouldn't 'let him' jump out of a plane and I can't tell his Mum as she'd probably either talk me out of it or kill me! Speaking to Jo made me feel so calm and almost excited about this experience. I felt reassured, yet was informed of the reality of the risk. She was straightforward with no pushing and most patient with my millions of questions. This down to earth and enthusiastic approach is not easy to come by in any workplace, yet valuable in building confidence with possible future clientele. Jo is credit to your business. I had not intended on spending what I have on this B'Day, yet felt compelled to give my wonderful husband a once in a lifetime, 'The Works' after a long, reassuring chat with Jo, who left all decisions up to me.

If possible, I would appreciate a short reply. There was one question, out of the million that I asked, that I forgot to inquire about. I was wondering about the time we need to wait before receiving the video, grabs and the roll of film, and whether we need to drive up from Brisbane to collect these? I just know from the enthusiasm that I heard buzzing in your office, whilst on the phone, that Steve is going to absolutely love this experience and will want to tell all and share 'The Proof',ASAP.

Thanks once again.
I look forward to meeting the team.

Yours Sincerely,
Christine O'Driscoll

I'm an ADDICT!
By Tash on 19/04/2002

19th April, 2002

Hi there lucky people,

My name is Tash and I'm an addict! I must confess that all day today all I can think about is Skydiving!! Here in Brisbane it is the most BEAUTIFUL day and I'm stuck in an office - without a window!! So while everyone is out on their smoke break I'm on the veranda with my face in the sky imagining myself freefalling (with John) and LOVING it!!

Basically this is just an e mail to let you all know how jealous I am - ENJOY your skydiving coz today you are all the luckiest people in the world.........

See Ya,
Tash.

Miss you all!
By Judit on 18/04/2002

Dear Everyone,

I made it back to my respective, cold country and somehow I can't think about anything else other than skydiving. I was on briefings back at Silverstone 2 days after I got home and I think I could have done a better briefing of a 4-way than talk about cars and race lines. Scary!

Unfortunately I won't be able to go back for Equinox, I got a 2-week instructing job offer which I couldn't refuse as it would pay for nearly 200 jumps in January.

I searched the Internet for all the DZs around me and I found an interesting advertisement. They are looking for cool skydiving ladies to attempt to break the British Womens Formation Skydiving Record! At the moment officially it's 38, unofficially 47 but by September I should be able to jump with them so if everything goes well I'll be on it!!!

I would like to thank all of you for making that 5 weeks I spent in Oz so special for me and it's partially your influence that I'm so keen now. I learnt something from all of you and even if we didn't jump together everybody in Toogoolawah is special to me. I probably learnt most at the bar actually, I still can't believe how much I drunk in that 5 weeks (probably more than in the last 5 years altogether). But that bell...you just can't refuse. Keep it ringing!

When I first arrived to Australia I was planning to spend 2 weeks in Toogoolawah and 5 in Cairns. I wanted to do 20 jumps on the DZ and 30 in Cairns to get my B licence. That was the plan...until I got there. You've got such a great atmosphere drop zone Macca, that I just couldn't leave and out of my 35-day holiday I spent 27 of them with you and I only went up to Cairns for 4 days to see my friends and buy a rig! I think the best thing any starting skydiver could do is find a great place like yours, start with their AFF and do 100 jumps before they move to a new DZ. Now I definitely feel like I could turn up at any DZ and jump out of any kind of plane. It takes a while to be confident enough to feel this way but it works. And with the encouragement of all you guys... it's just unbeatable! I spent a lot more money than originally planned for but at the end of the day I did my AFF, B-Rels, tracking dive course, Star Crest and 100 jumps in 4 weeks and I feel like every penny was more than worth it!

All funjumpers: Enjoy jumping, the blue skies and the paradise you're in. It's just a shame sometimes you have to get back to reality... I can't wait jumping with you all again if we have jumped together that's why if we haven't that's why. Take care of yourselves, don't use any of the crutches from the storage and keep in touch! Looking forward to hearing from any/all of you. Lots of love and I already miss you all.

Judit

By Dominic Chessum on 11/02/2002

Hi Ramblers,
I’m not sure if you remember me, as it’s been a long time since I’ve been in contact. I took the 20 jump package last April when I came to your D.Z at Toogoolawah. I`m now back from travelling and thought I`d send you an E-mail just to let you know that the "Addiction Package" does exactly what it says. I am now truly addicted! I’ve now done 60 skydives and have just bought my own rig. Sorry for not having been in contact before but I’d just like to thank everyone at the DZ for all their help and advice, especially Macca and Dredgie. You all helped to turn me from a jibbering wreck, who sat in the plane, white as a sheet and convinced that things were going to go wrong, to a fully fledged skydiver who is now loving every second of his time in the air. There may even be a chance that I will be returning to Australia this summer and so hopefully I will be able to come back and see you all. It’s just unfortunate that I will have to return to England before the Equinox Boogie.

Blue Skies (and thanks again)

Counting the days till my next adrenalin hit!
By Luke Habermann on 22/12/2001

Dear everyone at Ramblers Toogoolawah,
Skydiving is dangerous....dangerous because I have only done two jumps (one tandem and one solo) and I can't think of anything else, I can't talk to anyone without the conversation somehow swinging back to skydiving, I wake up every morning still dreaming of freefall....it's like a drug. I have watched my solo jump video about 20 times and I still can't get enough...and it's only been four days since my last jump. So far I have not only talked my girlfriend into doing a tandem, but the whole AFF course. So yes, skydiving is dangerous... to my bank balance. But who cares, it's only money. Counting the days till my next adrenalin hit.
Blue skies,
Luke Habermann.

Thanks

Dear Everyone at Ramblers,
Thank you very much for making me feel welcome there. I had the best time in my whole life during the week that I spent there. I especially want to thank Steve, Dave, Pru, Lucy & Ryan for all their help & encouragement. Guess what? My boyfriend James now also wants to take up skydiving so we will be back soon for him to do the AFF course. See you guys real soon.
Your friend,
Caroline Haas.
PS: Hi to Simon, Jack, Debbie, Robyn, Mike, Sue & anyone else I have missed.

Very Satisfied
By Mary on 30/11/2001

To all the staff at Ramblers Toogoolawah,
I'd like to thank all of you for giving me the time of my life. Thanks especially to Atilla for being the best instructor. Thanks Karen for showing me how to be aggressive in the air and thank you Macca for all those encouragement you gave me. If it wasn't for all of you I wouldn't have completed my AFF course. Although I was not able to complete the whole 20 jump package and gain an A licence I am still very, very satisfied at the outcome of my visit at your drop zone.

For the past couple of days, I have been suffering from PSD (post skydiving depression). I can't wait to get back up and gain a licence. I will hopefully continue at Sydney Skydiving centre when I save more money. Right now all I can do is watch my video over and over again wishing I was still there. I had so much fun. I had so much fun I am considering of coming back next holidays if my work allows it. Once again, Thank you.
Blue skies and soft landings,
Mary

Skysisters, THANX!!
By Deborah Sanderson on 01/01/2001

After a little time to reflect and think about
Skysisters, I wanted to say thankyou very much for
providing us/me with the opportunities presented at
Skysisters.

The jumping challenged and excited me, plus the
records are every jumpers dreams come true (or mine
anyway!!)

Personally, I felt positive growth both on the ground
(with delivering a seminar to my peers), and in the
air - by doing a good job in the record attempts. A
big high was receiving my certificate in front of all
the people I love.

Thanks Suzie Mc for always delivering on your word of
providing learning mixed with loads of fun!!

Much Love, Nurse Deb xo.
