Skysurfing the November Learning Curve Camp

Hi Susie,

I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank you and all the staff at Ramblers for a fantastic week during the November Learning Curve Camp. As you know I have not been able to play for a whole week for some time so I really had a fantastic week. The coaches were all very good and Nada's skydiving improved so much from a week of jumping as well.

As for me I have been trying to learn how to Skysurf for sometime and I was so happy when you told me that you had arranged for Rob Simunic to come up and do some coaching. It was also very beneficial as I have had a number of people come and ask me about how they can learn or at least try skysurfing so it was really good to be able to chat with Rob about the skills people need to have first and go over the initial training again.

It was also great that Rob got Craig Trimble to come up and do some camera work and also give some advice about how to film a Skysurf jump. I got some nice photo's from Craig so thankyou very much.

Rob told me at the start of the week that he would have me on a full size board by the end of the week which didn't take very seriously at all. He brought his boards up anyway and in the first few days had fixed many of the problems I had been having and had me doing forward and backward layouts (very cool), sit spins, and helicopter's (head down and spinning). I was feeling really good and confident on the intermediate board when he suggested the Big Board again I said cool and was really looking forward to it. The first jump on it I was pretty nervous but got control and all I can say is "WHAT A RUSH!!!!". The second jump on the big board I was still nervous and while setting up in the door managed to fall out of the plane, the funny thing is I stopped thinking about the board and just stood up on it straight away, very very cool.

For the whole week both Rob and Craig were very cool and the coaching was exceptional. To top it all off Rob left me his full size training board to use and explained what's involved in making one.

Thanks again to all the people involved in making the Learning Curve Camp such a great week, the Staff, Coaches, and Monkey who worked constantly to make up what looks to be a fantastic DVD of the week.

CANT BELIEVE ITS NEARLY 2 YEARS SINCE WE HAVE BEEN AWAY FROM TOOGOOLAWAH, ALTHOUGH IT FEELS LIKE YESTERDAY, IT FEELS LIKE A LIFE TIME.
EACH TIME I LOOK AT THE BLUE SKIES HERE IN THE U.K (AND THATS NOT OFTEN) I THINK OF ALL THE FUN WE HAD THERE. COULDENT DO THE LAST EQUINOX I HAD A BIKE CRASH WROTE OFF MY BRAND NEW HARLEY & MY LEFT FOOT. WILL BE HAVING MY 3RD OPPERATION SHORTLY, & THEN IM TELLING YA ILL BE BACK !!! WE CANT SAY HELLO TO EVERBODY SO TO EVERY ONE AT TOOGOOLAWAH & EVERYONE WHO VISITS THIS UNBELIVEABLE PLAY GROUD IN THE SKY, HAVE A HAPPY CHRISTMAS & A EXCELLENT NEW YEAR T,GWAH ROCKS

Thanks for the jump - perfect weather, getting to do some whale spotting on the way up, then the best experience of all - freefall - what could be better!! I will definitely be jumping again - this could be the start of an addiction!!

IT WAS THE BEST THING I"VE EVA DONE MINE BLOWING!!!!! every1 has 2 do it weas so ALSOME i will b doing it many times again! i wouldn't of missed it for the world thaanks to all the helpers and staff it was GR8!!!!! LOVED IT SOOOO MUCH,,,, i cant tell you how much i enjoyed it thanks,.,,, skydived at Toonoolawah! thank u guys heaps hope 2 come again !

Thank you so very much for organising Skysisters – it was a real credit to you!! I know how hard it is to organise a boogie and how much effort and work goes in behind the scenes. You worked tirelessly to get this event up and running, and it showed! Thanks to you, Macca, your family, the camera flyers, the organizers, Big Al, the pilots, manifest, the instructors, the café, the volunteers and everyone that I may have forgotten, Skysisters was a huge hit! I hope it was as successful for you as it was for the us, the participants! THANK YOU!

Had a great time at Ramblers and especially enjoyed Sky Sisters, glad I delayed my trip to the USA :-)
You´ve done a great job! It really enspiered me and hopefully you´ll arrange more of them..

Back home in Norway now but will be back same time next year!

Nice meeting you, Susie, do some more jumps next year :-)

Hey!!!

What can I say??!! Once again, thanx for having looked after me soooo much and sooo well, I know some day I will be able to give back!! I cannot express how much I enjoyed myself in T'wah again. Everytime I come back it feels like some part of me has never left ...

I think it was a great boogie, and I hope you will keep Skysisters as a regular boogie!! I can't emagine anywhere better for it to happen, honestly!!

Well, for me I'm back to work - music, music, music ... ;-)) I am finsihing a small CD I've done with my band this month. I will surely send you your own Ramblers copy, no worries!!

For Equinox 2006 I have some things planned though! I want to make a special Equinox 2006 limited edition CD with some "best of Herman" tunes (what a laugh!). Maybe also come up with a good theme song that I produce over here and bring over, maybe even send to you in advance.

Anyway, so much from me for now!! Yahooooo, Hermzzz

P.S.: Will play a gig at my local DZ this weekend for the opening night of a new bar there. Someone must have spread the word that I play for skydivers ... ;-))

Just a short note to thank you and everyone involved for making Skysisters such a great event. I was there for four days, but had only intended to stay for 3. We were made very welcome and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Hi to everyone at Ramblers!

I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped me through my AFF course in March: it really was the most awesome and unforgettable two weeks of my life! Learnt so much and met some amazing people during the fortnight. Any backpackers thinking of doing their AFF on the East Coast, do it at here!

Big thanks to Steve and Marlies for your great instruction and teaching. Thanks also to Motzi for jumping out with me on my first ever jump and Deb for spanking my arse on stage 2 - think it did the trick!

Shouts out to Macca, Tom, Spready, Roeland, the pilots Rob and Adam, and the team at manifest Paul, Lee and Mel - thanks for all your advice and making me feel so welcome. Hope to see you all at the Equinox 2006!
