Welcome to Ramblers e-News!
It’s been a great couple of weeks since the first inaugural newsletter.
Welcome to our newest AFF students Matt Small, Dan Edmonds, Greg Callaghan, Alexey Rutkevich, Alan & Julie Wills. Good luck with completing your later AFF jumps.
We’ve also had two Static Line course students start. Zac Turton and Rhyley Herron have now both progressed onto 10 second delays and loving it! The weather has been mostly behaving itself and there have been loads of great jumps, including James Shotton’s malfunction.
Naomi Millar, Katrina Wallis (from NZ) & Matt Taylor have done their 100th jumps, Reece Wallace his 200th and Tanguy from New Caledonia did his 700th.
Also from New Zealand, Dean Richardson and Peter Barnett paid us a visit after a 15 year absence. Chris Sheehan got his B and Jenny Thornton & Mark Laing have gained their D Certificate.
Brody Johnson & Wade Edwards completed their Tandem Ratings. Ask Brody how to pull a ripcord next time you see him!

Al White and Andy Clarke have returned from the USA with 100 ways under their belts.
The SEQS CLUB had Pony and Joorj here for a weekend of Freefly Crest training and starcrest loads. The South East Queensland Skydivers Club is worth joining. They hold good mid-week seminars in Brisbane as well great organised training weekends here and at other DZs.
This weekend coming is the Queens Birthday long weekend. It’s our drop zone opening anniversary weekend. We’ll be 32 this year. And it’s also Homer’s (our aircraft) first anniversary. So we are going to celebrate!
Saturday night we’ll do our Meteor Men night display, followed by old movies and dz slides on the big screen.
Sunday night will be the big annual Queens Birthday party with the usual theme – Queen! Royal or raunchy!
Legless the Band will rock into the night and I think the Toogoolawah Skydivers Club is putting on a few goodies.
Keep an eye on the Toogoolawah Skydivers Club’s Facebook page. (The TSC is also worth joining, ask at manifest next time you come out).
See you soon!
Dave McEvoy.
