DZ Round-up #11
Hello everyone, Bec here this time as Macca is off fishing and enjoying some sunshine near Morton Island.
Everyone’s been keeping busy around here during the midweek – Thank god because the weather gods aren’t being too friendly on the weekends. If it hasn’t been windy, it’s been raining.
Congratulations to Stewart Penny – AFF Stage 9 done and dusted at the end of September,...

...Brian and Febe were STILL out here jumping – they’ve since had to go back to the real world.
Alex Taylor...

...decided to visit us for the 1st time since the start of the year, he also bought out one of his mate’s for a tandem.

Great to hear your hand healed up ok Ben.
Paul Meese came out and started his Static Line Course – he even managed a chop on his 5th jump. Kyle Johnson continued that trend on Saturday morning with a chop during a wingsuit jump with Alex Woodward. ALMOST ended up being a very expensive jump – he almost didn’t find his freebag.
Gillian Steele is going to be off for a while after an awkward landing which has left her with a broken ankle.

We’ve also welcomed John Bucknell , Wayne Lyngkuist,...

The weekend just gone didn’t get off to a good start – Staff were woken by huge claps of thunder and a down pour of rain about 5.30 on Saturday morning. It continued through to about 11.00, but then the blue sky came out and so did the jumpers.
Ben N, Bubba, Pelican, Costa and Framey finally named their 4way team – “Brut 4ce”. They were glad for the sunshine so they could get on with some team training. Marios was down from Coolum as well, energising and organising everyone.
Sunday weather started off better, but then of course the wind picked up which slowed Jon and Katie...

...down with their AFF. The wind dropped off in the afternoon – enough time for a nice light sunset load, I even managed to get a jump done.

Today – Monday we managed 3 caravan loads, Kate and Jon continued the AFF jumps, Wade was trying blindmans...

...and Phil was kept busy doing his last 3 tandem jumps for his Tandem Rating.

Yet again, on Saturday morning everyone was woken by another storm. We were lucky though, it was clear skies by mid-morning. We welcomed Michael Haishkarem out for his AFF course, he’s already through to stage 6.

Kieron Selby was out for the weekend – unbeknownst to him, Debi (his wife) had organized for herself to FINALLY do a tandem jump (After 10 years of saying no). Great work Debi!

Finally Sunday afternoon rolled around and those CRW canopies were out again.

Belgy, Dave B and Marios went for some rotation with Lisa as camera. With the last load down for the day, the bar opened and everyone gathered around to watch the Aussie crush the Kiwi’s at the world cup – But it wasn’t to be, it was the other way round and Louis got bragging rights for the night.

Signing off for now.
Bec.
