DZ Round-up #13
Here we go.
Well Moci’s Sunday night Aussie pub night was a beauty, lots of free Yeager and laughter. We didn’t start jumping again until Wednesday, but only because no one rocked up ‘till then. And it was a good, cruisie student day.

...Faye Oliver, Daniel Wyatt and John Bucknell all kept the 182 busy and did three jumps each.
The DZ was closed Thursday as we had to take Homer and Roger down to Murwillumbah and do a practice jump into the jungle to get ready for this year’s “I’m a Celebrity get me out of here!” TV show. We did the jump into the jungle...

And the DZ started up again Friday. It was a good little day, students (Daniel Wyatt was back), tandems - Zoe Wyatt, Dan’s sister and Sharnee Tones,...

...and fun jumpers Luke Smith, Kyle Johnson, Paul Chivers, Mark Dergacz, Stewie McNee and Gavin McKinnon. The 182 did two loads and Homer did a couple too. Wade did all the slashing ready for the weekend. And we had the sausage sizzle. As said it was a great little day.
Saturday was huge! Seven tandems, 11 students and intermediates, including Kendall Lee, Adrian Bramwell, David Schmuttermaier, Brett Ruddell, Dave King, Jack Elford, Brian Stephensen and Adrian Kennedy all did training jumps and B-Rels.
Jason Duthie, Desiree Duthie and Rachel Moulden did their first jumps. The instructors were flat out! So was Louis the packer! I even had to do a tandem.
TSC Weekend
It was also a TSC weekend. 38 licenced jumpers rocked up and did either team training (Brute Fource) or joined in John McMahon’s “no-show” Speed Star comp, which was a beauty. It went to the wire and there was less than a second separating the two teams going into the last round. John’s team lost even with John’s enterprising skulduggery! The free fliers were also at it. Chops was here, and Dorsal , back from overseas. Homer did 14 loads, and then the party started, the Club had a 10 jump raffle draw – and a bunch of us bussed down to Murwillumbah again for the Celebrity rehearsal jumps on Sunday.
Sunday wasn’t quite so intense, only 10 loads. But there were even more skydivers here, 40 licensed jumpers. They was team training, fun jumping, free flying, wing suiting...! Students Jason Duthie and Rachel Moulden did stages 2 & 3. Plus Adrian Bramwell, Adrian Kennedy, Adam Martin and Stewart Penny all kept up their training. Plus a couple more tandems. The weekend went off! The Celeb jumpers got back in time for the pub.
The tandems into the jungle went off without a hitch, photos by Wayne:

Monday was quiet, a couple of 182 loads. Nothing happened Tuesday. Wednesday picked up a bit. Rebecca was back in the air...

Glenn Miller did his First Jump Course (Static Line) jump. Bravo!

Paul Meese continued on with his static line course and Michelle Hyde did three more jumps of her Addiction Package and nailed Stage 9. Congratulations!

Graham Phillips did a tandem. And that was it ‘till Friday. Glenn was back for two more static line jumps. Kyle Johnson and Josh Costa arrived and so did Sebastien Sierra, Tanguy Barsacq and Hubert Genty from New Caledonia, all here ready for the Learning Curve Camp. The Celeb crew departed early for the real thing at Murwillumbah. Phil ran the sausage sizzle.
And then it was Saturday again and the start of another huge weekend. Christie Turner, Ben Sirasch, Jon Sirasch, Tim McDonald and John Bucknell all completed continuation training and Jason Duthie was back for stages 4,5&6. And we did 3 tandems.
And then it was ON! Erica Tado had organised a Head-down Aussie Record try-out weekend. About 14 free fliers rocked up and did 7 jumps each. A total of over 40 licensed skydivers jumped Saturday and Homer and Roger did 15 loads.

And the Saturday night party started. (I went to bed, I was knackered!)
Sunday started early enough. The New Caledonians were here to skydive! Alan and Julie wills got stuck into it, as did other intermediates Greg Callaghan, John Bucknell, Christie Turner, Emily Hatfield, Peter Flanagan and Dave Hodgson. We did another four tandems. The head-downers got going, the wingsuiters did a few and again over 40 licensed skydivers got Homer into the air for 11 sorties. And then it was Sunday night at the pub again!
November Learning Curve Camp
And then it was Monday and the start of the November Learning Curve Camp. (It was also the start of major DZ improvements

DZ Causeway Repair
32 people jumped Monday and we did 8 sorties. Alan Wills had a mal, then he jumped his own brand new gear. Tuesday it got bigger! 39 people jumped and we did 12 sorties, three from the 182 were early morning Hop & Pops. Paul Chivers got his B license. Well done! 36 people for Wednesday, 2 H&P loads and 8 Caravan loads. Kyle Johnson got his E license - bravo!
It’s been very much and “intermediate level” LCC with only a few students and three tandems so far. There’s been lots of B-Rels...
Alex is back!
...CRW, Atmo, basic freefly and some RW. Today also saw several star Crest loads. The weather so far has been good and hot.
There’s 2 days to go and then it’s the Queensland Champs. And that’s where this News Letter ceases!

See Ya,
Macca.
