DZ Round-up #18
Well, it’s been a quick two weeks since the last Newsletter, it’s almost Christmas already!
Back at Wednesday the 4th January Tim Roy and Lee Wendt were still going strong doing Stages 5, 6 & 7.

Paul Stokan also did a couple...

...and we had two new 1st Jump Static Line students, Andrew Musgrave and 16 year old Harvey Bentley.

...and we did five nice full loads.
On Thursday Harvey and Andrew got stuck into it, kept the 182 going and both guys did all their Practice Pulls and their First Freefall! Well done.
Tim Roy was also active and completed Stage 9.

Friday was the calm before the storm. Luke Smith and David Gibson did a few hop and pops, Andrew Musgrave did four more Static Line course jumps and David Gibbs successfully did Stage 4 AFF. The Sausage Sizzle was a beauty and the crowd had started to arrive for the weekend.
And then it was Saturday! Christine Clarke brought along 16 new tandem jumpers to jump all afternoon and party all night!

Wayne Lyngkuist was back from injury and landed in a tree on his first jump – Stage 4. (See you in about another 6 weeks Wayne!)
Andy Rose was back for his first couple of Static Line freefall delays from Homer.

Plus we had 31 fun jumpers. Plus Roger the Pilot did a few tandem master jumps. We did 11 loads and they were all chocker!

And then the party started. We had a great bonfire, The Cherries the band went off, rockets were going off, the bar was going off, the pool was going off... everything was going off!
And then it was Sunday. What goes up must come down. The hangovers were going off! The Pilot took the day off, Belgy took the day off, Phil took the day off! The temperature went up and 15 fun jumpers kept the day slowly rolling along. Adam Phillips was back for continuation training and we did three tandems. It was a quiet Sunday night pub night....
Monday was quiet. However Vanessa Porchet arrived for her 1st Jump Course with Wade. Belgy took off for Rainbow Beach for a few days. Vanessa did Stage 2 on Tuesday and Harvey Huxley was back for a couple more Static Line course jumps. Wade took Amandine for a tandem and did his first handi-cam jump. Alex Kullman also did a leap. On Wednesday Wade took off for the Sunny Coast for a few days off and Phil looked after our only tandem. Thursday and Friday didn’t happen!
Saturday was a solid day. I had to shoot thru for a demo into Redbank Plains with Doug and the River 949 flag.
At the drop zone we only had one tandem Louis’ mate David.

Brian and Kylie Stephenson re-visited the DZ for a jump, Tim Roy soldiered on,...

Steve Dutton did Stage 3 and Alan Miljkovic did three Static Line course jumps.

Our usual crew of fun jumpers rolled up and included Darren Harvey from Coolum with his 40 jump tickets from his 40th birthday presents.
Ben Witchalls and Ivan Formenko did 7 jumps,

Paul Chivers, Jimmy James and Louis did 6 jumps, Joni and Vera (from Finland – not Germany) were back.

So was Chops! I got back from the demo just in time for an atmo with the gang.

CRW reigned supreme at sunset. It was Pub Nite Saturday night and the party again went off.
Michael Cross and Vanessa Dear arrived for Sunday jumps...

…and Tim Roy again continued on. Rupert Connell from Scotland, 135 kilo, experienced instructor did a couple of leaps...

...and so did the rest of the 11 fun jumpers, but then it rained! The bar opened early, the pub closed late and the party went into the night.
And it’s still raining as I write this and it looks set in. Oh well, the farmers are happy!

See ya,
Macca.
