DZ Round-up #16
Hello and welcome again to Newsletter 16, our last one for 2011. It’s a beauty, lots of photos, hope you enjoy it.
Well, picking up from Friday the 9th, the dz was still wet.

Still, we had two new First Jumpers back after doing the course earlier but who got weathered out. Chris Demaine and Tony Fox...

…did Stages 1, 2, 3, and 4!! We also had another 3 First Jumpers, Shirley Nicholson & Daniel Turner-Smith do AFF 1 and Daniel Light do his first Static Line jump.

Joel Martin, Naomi Adam, Brett Ogden, Gordon Baker, Brody and Dave Bleakley. All our regular instructors were kept busy! And our other staff!

Saturday was a bit light on due to iffy weather. It was ok for static line jumping though and Daniel did two more. Tony and Chris also managed to get in stages 5&6.

Elizabeth did our only tandem. John Bucknel, Jackson, Kyle and Brett Ogden kept at it but that was about it. ....Except for Louis and Dave Bleakley doing an off-dz down-plane and S.A.T. Dave ended up in hospital with a busted leg!
Sunday was a bit better. Dan Light did another 4 jumps including his first freefall – yahoo! And Tony and Chris did stages 7, 8 & 9...

– yahoo again! Michelle Hyde was back and so was David Schuttermaier with his brand new gear! Andy Rose and Veronica Cawood did their static line FJC and Andy got 2 in.
Licensed jumpers included Simon Fox, Christine Clarke, Kyle, Chloe O’Brien, Mat Blaiklock, Ollie Hamalainen, Rob Burke and Brett.
Monday was a 182 day but Chris and Tony were on all 3 loads. We got Homer going Tuesday and Tony and Chris we again on all 4 loads.

...did a tandem. Vedran Maslic continued through his Accreditation Package and Jackson, Steve Wainberg, Martin Klappem and Brett filled the loads.

and qualified for their A License and Vedran soldiered on, and Marco Bimmerlein from Russia did his 1st jump of his Addiction package. (He’s still here as I write this!)

On Thursday Monty Pierce did his second static line jump, Marco did his second AFF jump and Peter Leaviss was back to continue on doing stage 5. Luke Smith rocked up for a jump but once again the weather was against us a bit. Friday was better. We did 4 Homer loads and 3 x 182 loads. Marco did stages 3,4&5. Andy Rose did his first freefall and Peter Leaviss did stages 6&7, Brett was still at it and Rebecca did a jump! And Jack Smith did a tandem.
Last weekend was pretty good. On Saturday Marco, Peter and Adrian Cox continued on with their training jumps...

We had 6 tandems and 16 fun jumpers all made up the six loads we did. It was good to see and jump with Tristan Birch...

and Little Ben Fuller, thanks men. Adrian Bramwell got stuck into his B-Rels and had a ball. Dion was back along with Sam Golds, Clay, Mat Coles, Ollie, Brett (he’s been jumping everyday!), Martin McKenzie, Chloe, Ben Wotton and Marty Bowd. Phil and Louis did a freefly.

Sunday was much the same but bigger. We did 8 tandems including Tracy and John Gallacher who did two each! Peter and Marco got their stage 9’s done...

…and Issac Goodland did stage 3. Christine Clarke was back and jumped her brand new gear, and landed off-drops!! Peter Flannagan, MT and Ben Sirasch did 3 jumps, Tristan, Greg White and Doug Pender did 5, and another bunch of regular jumpers all had a leap or two.
Monday was good. Only 3 loads from Homer but we had students Marco, Mathew Micallaf and Peter Leaviss get stuck into it.

Jeff Bradtke was on all 3 loads as was Ben Sirasch and Tristan, and father Chris Collier and sons Nick and Ryan did a tandem – well done!
Tuesday was a beauty! I was away all day but we did 2 loads from Homer and 4 x 182 loads. We had loads of students including local Glen Miller doing 2 statics and his first freefall, Mat Micallaf did Stages 7, 8 & 9,

Marco, Jeff Bradtke, James White and Peter carried on, Andy Rose continued his Static Line course and father John and son Tim Thorogood did Stages 4 & 5 respectively. Steve Fitchett did a few jumps with Tim Lemch and Brody couldn’t stay on the ground. All our instructors – Belgy, Wade, Louis, Phil and Moci - were kept busy,...

…and then they went to the cricket to watch Warney spin his balls. Wednesday, today was another compact little beauty. We did 4 Homer loads. John and Tim Thorogood did another AFF stage each.

Marco did a couple. Jimmy James brought Wayne Beavis along for some B-Rels (4).

Tim Leitch, Joel Martin and John Bucknell also did 4 jumps. Brody a I did one too. I had a beauty, I solo-atmoed towards a high, puffy cloud, opened at 8 grand just above it and soared down and through the edges of it!

Learning Curve Camps

Ramblers Learning Curve Camps are personalised mini-boogies specifically designed for A-F licensed jumpers ie. low experience level jumpers who are wanting to increase knowledge and awareness, gain experience, achieve licences and ratings and try new things in a safe and fun environment, plus experienced jumpers wanting to try new things, new camera flyers and jump pigs wanting to get on heaps of midweek loads.
