DZ Round-up #15
Well things haven’t slowed too much since the last Newsletter. Jibril Tan finished his AFF course in style by doing stages 5,6,7,8 & 9 on Friday 25th November, all out of the 182. Congratulations!
The weekend of the 26/27 wasn’t quite as big as the previous weekends however it was the CRW boys’ go. Belgy organised about 16 people to commit for a serious attempt at a Club CRW record 16 way Diamond.
Saturday started out promising, Sarge, Brett and Ben helped coach up the team and some nice 9 way diamonds and 5 way stacks were successfully completed.
Steve Fitchett flew video and got some good footage, including a great sequence of a hell spinner opening of his own canopy! Have a look at the master dvd at the DZ!! And then the weather started misbehaving and it became a bit bumpy for CRW.
However it didn’t stop the rest of the troops. We had 5 tandems including brother Cody...

Sunday was almost same-same; early start for the CRW, Archie rocked up and then bumpy. We did another 6 tandems, John Bucknell, Peter Flanagan and Chris Cook soldiered on with continuation training and Jodie Herrick did her First Jump Course. Jindy had three cracks at B-Rel 10

...the CRW boys were back in the air for a final attempt at the big diamond. Sadly it was not to be, an early wrap spoiled the party

...and the word went out – “See you next year!” It was still fantastic to see the attempt and effort taking place.
And re-building...
The weekend was also Rebecca’s final weekend manifesting, so of course it was Party Time again on Sunday night, and what a beauty it was! We’re going to miss you mate!
Not much happened the rest of the week. We did a few tandems on Tuesday and Wednesday including Ben and Gillian Benson. And on Friday Adrian Van Trier and Peter Leauiss did their First Jump Course.

And then it was one of our biggest weekends of the year, the Toogoolawah Skydivers Club Christmas Party weekend!

...the Off Trac freeflyers organised Mike Carpenter – UK and World Champ – to come along and coach them up (they went hard! 7 jumps Saturday and 3 jumps Sunday), we had 13 tandems Saturday, including Sophy Bingham,

Adrian and Peter did stages 2,3 & 4, Barry Miall was back from his tandem last Sunday to start the First Jump Course along with father and son John and Tim Thorogood. We had 58 licensed funjumpers jumping and 11 staffies going hard. We did 18 loads Saturday, and at sunset, load 18, Phil Kemper did his 1,000th!!

The Club Christmas Party on Saturday Night was a beauty. The fire was terrific, the food was terrific and Pritt won the 10 jump raffle draw.
Needless to say Sunday wasn’t quite as full-on as Saturday. Students John, Tim and Adrian all did their next 3 stages, we had another 6 tandems, there we still 26 funjumpers at it and we did seven big loads. Sunday night pub night was a bit quieter this time!
And then it was Monday.

Adrian and Tim were here for another few days to finish their AFF Course, Aaron Faulkner did a tandem, but after the first load the weather clagged in, and it’s still that way as I write this Round-Up, so until next time...

See ya,
(for the night jumps
this coming Friday and Saturday),

President's Report
TSC Christmas Party WE
Well what a good day, the drop zone was going off. Lots of jumps, we did 2 rounds of 8way speed stars followed by two 16 ways which went really well, the freeflyers were going hard and the pig was rotating.
Big thanks to Dave Bleakly, Bubba and Costa for the cooking of the pig, Lloyd for carving the ham, Jen for the salads, Riss for the bread rolls, Holly for the chicken and of course the punch, which packed a punch, good job Holly and of course me, for doing something, I know, it was eating the pig, ham, salad, chicken & bread rolls as well as drinking the punch, which could explain why Sunday was a slow one for me. And of course to the people who helped in the cleaning up, pretty much the same group of people.
As always it’s the people behind the scenes which make these days work, so if you’re a club member you are allowed to help out (Tim Ragdale), especially in the clean up, many hands make light work.
Anyway once again thank you all for a really fun day.
No matter what aspect you choose to fly your body in, have FUN, be SAFE
